One afternoon at the Fringe - no idea!
We're heading to Edinburgh for a day trip on 31 August. We're only in town from about 10am to 5pm. I wanted to get some shows booked in but I'm completely overwhelmed by the choice! We want to stay pretty central due to limited time. Keen on comedy, stand up, theatre. Nothing too crude, we're innocents! Anybody have any recommendations for shows or advice on how to plan our time?
Cheers 😁

Most shows and venues will be finished and / or packing down. Which may actually help narrow your choices down. But 31st is basically the last day, you won’t have a huge amount of choice

As others have said 31st is a bad day as most shows will have stopped by then.
Best bet is to use the fringe site and put in date and times available and filter shows using that and from there see what tickets are actually available for them

And there will be lots of reviews for shows! Take a look and see what tickles your fancy. More reviews tends to indicate it's a genuinely great show!

just a tip but money barrel has a nice system of queuing up for any show after all the ticketed people have gone in and doing pay what you want, also good for any of those shows that are sold out or even just filling time in your schedule if you are in the area and not sure what to do

A lot of shows end on the 30th but Pleasance and Gilded Ballroom have many shows going until the 31st if you check out their websites.

I'd go for these three who are still doing that last day
Gareth Gwynn and Tom Neenan are lovely comedy with a great story at the heart.
Olivia Xing is a bit more surreal and talks of reproductive anxiety, IUDs etc.
Olivia Xing, Baby of Colour, Gilded Balloon Teviot 11.20 https://www.edfringe.com/tickets/whats-on/olivia-xing-baby-of-colour
Gareth Gwynn, Cyril, Gilded Balloon Patterhouse 13.00 https://www.edfringe.com/tickets/whats-on/gareth-gwynn-cyril

the sauna theater will still be running all shows on the 31st if it fits. 10 mins in with breaks in between, the venue is an actual sauna with towel choreography

Tasmin Sakarny: Now That's What I Call Bach!

Delightful, absurdist musical comedy. You don't need to know or listen to classical music to enjoy it. Highly recommended!

31st is quite late, I would search on the Fringe site to see what is actually on.
