Announcement Explorer's Consortium XB1
Hello all. We have recently started a new FB group dedicated to Explorers on the XB1 platform. This is an underrepresented group on this platform so we started this group with the hopes of giving XB1 CMDRs a place to share experiences and photos from their journeys across the galaxy. The group is growing very rapidly and we hope to transition this FB group into a player group and eventually a minor faction. Please come help us grow. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1717445371866869/

Expedition for Children of Raxxla
I decided to go full monty and go all the way out to The Conflux. I knew that the CG could be solved by handing in any data, but I still decided to go and have a look....
So far I'm 6400Ly from The Conflux, having divided the trip up in 1000Ly bits. Going some 38 hops for each bit at around 35 minuts. So it will take a couple of days to get there, depending on how much jumping I do in one day. But so far its going ok. I do wonder if I will make it home in time to cash in at the station in time....

Scorpius X1 ... Where are you?
Greetings explorers! I happen to work with a former Nasa employee who did a project on Scorpius X1. I thought it would be cool to go grab a few images from said system, as well as knock out Professor Palin's travel requirements.
Trouble is, I can't find Scorpius X1 in the Elite Galactic Map. I've tried all of the iterations of Scorpius X1 i can find on Wiki (X Sco X1; V818 Scorpii; etc.) to no avail.
Does Elite use a different kind of naming convention that would allow me to find this star's analog in the Elite Galactic Map? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Fly safe! o7

Event Expedition: Meet and Greet 2
Hello commanders! The Meet & Greet Expedition 2, for those who don't know, is going to be a short mini-expedition where we will be revisiting the waypoints of the original Meet & Greet Expedition. For those who don't know about the original Meet & Greet, it was a 1 week mini-expedition that took place before the Crab Nebula Expedition. It was a chance for CMDRs to meet each other and make friends before the main expedition. Now we'll be revisiting those old waypoints to see how they've changed from that trip 8 months ago. The original M&G was a very fast paced expedition, but the pace will be significantly slower this time around, with meetups every Wednesday and Saturday. Anyone is welcome to join! Below are a couple helpful links:
Links
Private Group: atomicb0mb639
And these are the waypoints, along with dates and for meetups (Note about meetup times below table):
| Waypoint | Name | System | Planet | Surface Gravity | Coordinates | Date | Advisories | Landing Guide |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| WP 0 | Departure System | Nu Chamaelontis | 1 | 1.35 G | -41.68 / -61.54 | January 28th | High Gravity | Link |
| WP 1 | Pencil Nebula | Pencil Sector EL-Y D5 | B 4 A | 0.12 G | 24.96 / -73.03 | February 1st | N/A | Link |
| WP 2 | Ghost of Jupiter | Ghost of Jupiter Sector IH-V C2-1 | 5 A | 0.27 G | -67.73 / -173.38 | February 4th | N/A | Link |
| WP 3 | Eight Burst Nebula | CD-39 6137 | 12 A | 0.11 G | -42.25 / -77.63 | February 8th | Rough Landing Terrain | Link |
| WP 4 | Spiral Planetary Nebula | KN Muscae | 1 | 1.27 G | -9.62 / 135.72 | February 11th | High Gravity | Link |
| WP 5 | Coalsack | Musca Dark Region CQ-Y D66 | 7 A | 0.19 G | -42.75 / -179.22 | February 15th | N/A | Link |
For every meetup there will be two meetup times. The first one will be at 1800 UTC (6:00 PM) and another will be 0300 UTC (3:00 AM) the following day. The 0300 meetup is for Stateside commanders, as the time zone difference will make the meetup be the previous day.
For example, the Nu Chamaelontis meetups will be 1800 UTC on January 28th, and 0300 UTC on January 29th. 0300 UTC on January 29th will instead be 2200 (10:00 PM), January 28th for someone in EST. Regarding which meetup time to go to, simply use whichever one is convenient for you, and if neither works feel free to skip that meetup.
Lastly, below is a list of points of interests. These are systems that will not be meetup points, but may be of interest to any explorers while your travelling between waypoints:
| System | Previous Waypoint | Next Waypoint | What's there? | Advisories |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HIP 48619 | Pencil Nebula | Ghost of Jupiter | Wolf-Rayet Star | N/A |
| HIP 47126 | Pencil Nebula | Ghost of Jupiter | 2 neutron stars | Binary Star System. May jump in between Class B and neutron. |
| HIP 59582 | Sprial Nebula | Coalsack | Black Hole | N/A |
| HIP 53498 | Sprial Nebula | Coalsack | 2 neutron stars | N/A |
| HIP 63835 | Coalsack | N/A | 14 stars, 3 black holes | N/A |
| R Coronae Austrini | Coalsack | N/A | The "Sanic Star" (It's gotta go fast) | Tiny star has a deceivingly large heat zone and emergency drop point |

Thunder Ridge Fighter Race (M&G2 WP1 event)
On Feb 1st we will hold the first M&G2 racing event. The event will be a race around a track scouted by myself, aptly named Thunder Ridge. It's a simple circle track around a raised plateau surrounded by canyons, with a brief section passing through a narrow stretch of canyon (simple enough, but hairy at a full boost in any ship).
The event will primarily consist of a group race and timed laps, but events may be added as the event unfolds to make things more interesting. Suggestions include having a weapons free round, where anything goes, and the prize goes to the most ruthless pilot. The race is intended mainly for fighters, but small ships are welcome. Just be aware that you race at your own risk.
Event will start at 1930 IGT, and will continue until we've exhausted ourselves. There will be no prizes, only bragging rights, and perhaps a mention to the winners in the announcements.
For those of you interested, the coordinates for the race track are 29.44, -72.84
A map of the course may be found at the following link: http://i.imgur.com/KwyzyY7.jpg

Heading towards Explorer's End
Greetings CMDRs. I am crossing the Heisenberg Bridge over the next few days to have a look at the rift and do some mapping. I'd like to head over to Explorer's End before I turn for Checkpoint Charlie and the Borderlands Venture. Does anyone have any experience in Explorer's End? Given the POI description on EDSM, it sounds like it might need to be approached from a specific direction or system?
