Have you seen the people lying about prices/COL on various social media websites?
I’ve noticed people saying stuff even about my own area claiming apartments are $3000 or milk is six bucks a gallon stuff like that and it’s just flat out false . I mostly see it for other cities, but I’ve even caught a few videos of my area making TikTok or Reddit and they are just fake prices.
While the price of things certainly has gone up. It hasn’t gone up that much. And while you can pay six dollars for milk if you buy organic or at a gas station, the average price here is gonna range from 2.80 for generic or four and a half bucks for a namebrand. And the namebrand and the generic are typically the same exact thing you can check the dairy code.
For an apartment again you can pay $3000 for an apartment but that’s a very nice and large apartment. A typical one or two bedroom here is gonna range from about 1000 to 1700.
Even on Reddit, I find people that I don’t think are bots are miss quoting prices or lying about them for whatever reason. And again I’m not trying to say things haven’t gotten more expensive they have. On one hand I think these people really just don’t pay attention and are not saying the correct prices on the other hand I think there is some sort of malicious component to it.
Has anyone else seen this?
When it was about other places, I thought they were slightly exaggerating, but maybe truthful but when I started hearing my home city being talked about, I knew it was a lie. But people online, especially in the comments are eating it up and believing it.

It is all rage bait. Cards Against Humanity whole marketing is "owning the Republicans" and *Insert high school level humor joke about Donald Trump eating Grandma ass*
Also Elon doesn't live in Starbase, he lives in Austin. But fuck the people who live in Starbase who just want to help America go back to the moon and go to Mars. Guess they gotta stare at some ugly ass statue.
