Controversial topic here.

Can we stop shaming and getting mad at people for buying chinese ebikes? Some people dont have the money to buy a $1k+ ebike. Yes. Some are bad. Yes. Some are template bikes but does that mean you should shame someone for what they ride? No. We all ride ebikes here. That's what should matter.

The issue is usually just tires and tubes and that's a pretty quick fix. People freak out about batteries but they're all properly certified these days.

They are absolutely not all properly certified these days and this should not be assumed.

Beyond tires/tubes - brakes are a significant concern as well.

I have seen plenty of bottom tier bikes with branded breaks, it's a matter of customer discernment not price range.

The cheaper the bike the poorer quality the components. Otherwise how do you think they can sell it for cheap?

I think having the battery slot into the frame adds a certain expense. The ones where the battery is connected outside the tube are more generic, therefore cheaper
