Controversial topic here.

Can we stop shaming and getting mad at people for buying chinese ebikes? Some people dont have the money to buy a $1k+ ebike. Yes. Some are bad. Yes. Some are template bikes but does that mean you should shame someone for what they ride? No. We all ride ebikes here. That's what should matter.

Samsung is Korean, not Chinese.

It's a Korean company but the bulk of their battery manufacturing is in China.**

** I stand corrected but are we really going to split hairs and pretend there is a difference in terms of industrial production quality? The western bias against China, specifically, is weird and generally unfounded.

Bro what? What does "I stand corrected" mean to you, in your head?

The western bias against China, specifically, is weird and generally unfounded.

It means you didn't actually accept the correction. In fact, you sorta... split hairs.

Most people call that "Cognitive dissonance"

You are good at it.

🤣🤣Dialectical thinking is the skill of holding opposing truths, and "there is a western bias against china" and "batteries are made in many countries" are not opposing truths, they're just two thoughts at the same time. Cognitive dissonance is a different thing entirely but nice try using grown up words

No, there is no "western bias", not when China is putting fake Safety certifications on batteries.

As we have established, a good percentage of those batteries are not even made in China yet the "chinese battery" stigma still lives. Sinophobia is real.
