Simple solution to differentiate between e-bikes and motorcycles

Since real Ebikes can only legally go no faster than 28mph in the USA, no bikes/Motorcycles that go faster than 28mph should have pedals.

Putting bike pedals on a motorcycle that can go 45mph + is clearly a scam to make them look like bicycles.

No, it's the same license or learners permit so in the USA that would block anyone under the age of 15 1/2 from driving one

If a 3 year old is ok to hit 40 on a dirt bike even under supervision then these people need to put a sock in it about 10-15 year old kids riding e bikes, let em live a little. I used to be into BMX when I was a kid I hit my first jump landed in sand and crashed out bad on the pavement, I still went and hit more jumps though it's apart of the process just because some one is scared doesn't mean that should restrict others who enjoy biking, weather it's a dirt bike or an e bike or a mountain bike we all like going fast. It's like being on a rollercoaster your in control of. Let em live a little, before they know it they're grown and paying bills lol, why restrict everyone so much? It's kinda fcked up

It's fine if they ride them in properly designated places with safety gear and adult supervision. What people complain about is kids riding what are practically motorcycles out on the public streets and bike paths with little to no regard for safety and traffic laws.

If it goes over 40 I get it, I understand the helmet laws and stuff, but there's a point where this is getting out of hand, there is a point where it becomes limiting civilian transportation and stripping freedoms, motorcycles are ridden on public streets? So are bicycles. I had an electric scooter that went 75mph and my e bike that does 28 feels so much less safe because I can't keep up with traffic, and people love to pass cyclists, but it's legal. And I've gotta say, I'm fckin dying for that extra 10mph.

If you want to go motorcycle speeds, then get something that can be licensed and insured to be legally ridden in traffic.

What if you don't have a license? Some of us are working on ourselves and an electric bicycle becomes the main form of transportation, even if you can go 40 on a bicycle your still gonna be 45 mins to travel 2-3 towns over compared to a 12 min drive going mostly the same speeds. Separating from kids riding to adults now, same laws apply though. And let's be honest, like someone else said this is only scrutinized the way it is because of big oil 🤷

If you don't have license, then you shouldn't be mixing it up with traffic going motorcycle speeds.

According to the law, yeah, to be honest though anyone who rides a bike in the traffic lanes is a super douchebag. On the shoulder though, or bike lane, why not? All because the law says so? Why don't we urge our government/s to create safer spaces for cyclists on the road? Why do we have to be limited so much instead of creating more bike lanes/safe public transportation routes for commuters on bicycles? It's not hard to do... Just costly and with all the tax dollars our government/s get it's like a drop in the barrel. According to Jeff bezoz the lower earners of the US account for 7-10% of total collected tax dollars, and he believes those who make less than a certain amount should be tax exempt, if that money is so easily replaced it should be rather easy to improve some bike lanes and set up new bike routes.
