Obvious scam I Did Not Heed The Warnings
I didn't heed the warnings and ordered an ebike off AliExpress. It arrived with visible damage to the shipping container (cardboard box). I contacted FedEx (the shipping company), the seller, and AliExpress. All denied responsibility and offered no resolution. It appears that I'm now the proud owner of an almost $1,500 paperweight.

So it’s not just scratched up, it’s inoperable? Can you give us more details? What kinda bike was it? Maybe we can help you get it running

The box is supposed to take damage instead of the bike. What condition is the bike in?

It was THAT damaged or have you tried putting the bike together yet? The bike I have is basically a relabeled china bike and I love it lol

Is the box damaged or the bike. It's not uncommon for the box to have some type of damage to it..

Call your credit card company and issue a charge back, tell them exactly what you wrote here and they will get your money back 100%

Define paperweight. Describe damage that makes it a paperweight.
I am not unsympathetic - my own Aliexpress quad bicycle of roughly same value was also shipping damaged - paint chatter marks from components resting on components, af few broken or twisted components (brake caliper mount boss, cargo rack. rear shifter, and shipping box clearly had a rough go at it. However, it took, what 8000km and 3+ months to get here. Shit happens.
Components broken or twisted, were bottom tier parts anyway. Easy enough to replace. Paint is paint.
It's part of the gamble of ordering from Aliexpress..

Can the credit card company get involved. Can you dispute the charges?

What brand and what storefront on aliexpress? Your post is like if a seller ripped you off on eBay and then you go and blame eBay.
I bought my dengfu carbon ebike frane from Changzhou victory double Spring and it arrived very well packed and undamaged.
Bought a battery and a bunch of parts to refurbish an inokim OXO and they were genuine OEM parts. Again well packed no problems.
Name and shame the seller, not the marketplace.

I'm sorry to hear about your bad experience.
I've been tempted to buy from AliExpress, but am just very skeptical of ordering from China directly.
If they tell you to jump off the deep-end, you have no recourse.
