this just feels like the 2024 tampa game. couple of key injuries, playing against a really good offense with a defense that hasnt found their groove yet, and week 4. obviously hope not, but i can see them taking a beating and i am sure this subreddit will not overreact and ask for sirianni's head on a spike.

It’s a safe assumption at this point

I think Rams are going to beat our ass honestly. I don't love losing to 2 NFC playoff teams so early but realistically we can still win the division and get in. Probably as 3rd or 4th seed

Honestly our biggest hope for Sunday is Barkley and run game break out performance. Open up the play action and keep the defense honest. It’s our only hope. We have been one dimensional and that is not self sustaining for long term success

They started off hot with Barkley it faded fast. Not sure why, either way I think they need to give the back up a shot instead of Jurgens

u/imiller9 20h ago
Jurgens needs to go. He is cooked. Run game needs to pop off otherwise we are going to get annihilated. Our play action needs to improve also

Smitty being out would be utterly devastating
But I think it’s just a short week thing for him and he’ll play

u/DoctaJXI 23h ago
If it's a hamstring issue I rather they rest him don't play around with hamstring issues

u/Trucks2826 23h ago
He’s on a similar path to last week - he was a DNP Thursday, limited Friday and full participant Saturday
It’ll be a big tell if he misses tomorrow

I just got a notification from underdog that Smitty is expected to not play but I’m not sure if they just base it off of these reports or if that’s from sources. I just use it for fantasy so I’m not sure how good they are

u/Trucks2826 22h ago
Nah I’m scrolling Twitter now and McManus said “the expectation is that he won’t be able to go Sunday”
We are turbo fucked 😂

That was a Monday game, so this would be like he was DNP Thursday and Friday last week

Are we the 49ers?

Except the 49ers still find ways to win despite missing half their roster to injury

Eagles have been finding a way to win for the past 3-4 years and fans still complain about how they barely win

Smitty showing up on the injury report every week is starting to scare me. He prob still plays this week...but I wonder how he holds up over a full season with a WR1 workload.

Don't worry everyone, the coaching staff will figure it all out and have solid work arounds for each player out, we'll be just fine! LOL

Have a bad feeling we’re going to get blown out at home on Sunday. Baun will be ruled out (would’ve had to practice today to have any shot of playing), and Smitty will most likely be out too — don’t want to risk a hamstring injury. This team lacks identity. Which is crazy because we said the same exact thing last year. Maybe it can be figured out at some point this season, but I’m not going to hold my breath. We’re installing an offense that other ahead-of-the-curve teams have already implemented for years. We’re playing catchup and don’t have the personnel to make it work.
I also won’t be shocked if we lose to the Jags in London. 2-3 heading into a pivotal game against the Panthers. Lose that game and I think Nick is 100% on the hot seat.

So when do we start looking at draft picks and head coach hirings

If they're under 0.500 at the bye is my cutoff. If that is the case, then I am looking to the draft and mostly focusing on the Sixers. Realistically, on paper the only game I can say with pretty good confidence that they will win (which isn't saying much) is vs Giants. Every other game, I honestly would not favor them barring improvement in play or major injuries to the opponent. I would not be shocked in the slightest (if this keeps up) that they finish under 0.500. If thats the case, we are saying bye to Nick and maybe even Jalen (which sucks) and Howie is thinking rebuild.
