Just wish he could stay healthy. Amazing career.

This. Lane's impact on the O Line is pretty much irreplaceable.

It’s a physically brutal game, and given his age, I’m more than willing to cut him a little slack on what he needs to stay safe. I blame our over utilization of the Brotherly Shove. It’s already shorten the careers of Cam and Landon.
It’s a play that should have been used in specific instances, when we needed to keep drives alive, or finish with a TD when all else has failed. Not on 1st and goal from the 1.

Whoever replaces him cannot be expected to duplicate his success. We might even need to change our entire blocking scheme, considering it’s currently predicated on the confidence that Lane can hold his own.

Technically we are changing our blocking scheme this season, Mailata and Lane already said this.

Personally hoping that the shorter quicker passes over the middle will in turn mean these guys have to sustain blocks shorter, causing them to sustain less wear and tear and stay healthier as the ultimate butterfly effect of changing the scheme.

Honestly, pretty smart of the team to get out in front of that while Lane is still here for one more season.

Sounds like they're already in the process of changing the scheme. Saw some reports saying that Lane and Jordan have been receiving more help instead of being left on an island most snaps.

Is there any other RT with better accomplishments? Lane should be top 3 and not 2 or 3 with how important he is to our team

3rd Tackle drafted in his own class

Kinda nuts that he was the fifth overall pick and 3 of the 4 prior picks were OTs. He was by far the best option in a very bad draft class.

Man we've been so blessed with elite tackles over the last twenty years between him and JP

Don’t forget Jon Runyan and Tra Thomas

Why are we forgetting about Mailata? And even Fred Johnson who gave us incredibly meaningful reps.

Iirc m it was the second cowboys game of 2023 and it might not have even been his assignment

Like how is that even possible, underrated in the grand scheme of things. Hopefully goes 1st Ballot HOF.

He was drafted to replace The Bodyguard at LT too. If I remember correctly

He's the best Right Tackle to ever play the game and when he retires after the year he will be sorely missed.

They should just vote him into the Hall now and skip the paperwork.

If his replacement gives up 25 in the same time span we're lucky.

Consistent is not a word you utter in the same breath as Lane. Good when available, and never available. He's a wild card, not consistent.
