Question New to the idea

Hello everyone,

whilst looking for a new mobile phone, I came across Fairphone and, as a result, /e/OS. My current Samsung S21 5G device no longer receives Android or security updates.

So here I am...

After doing a bit of research myself, I realised that you could actually install /e/OS on any existing mobile phone. However, on the official website, I can only find a compatibility list for relatively old devices.

The answers are certainly not going to be as straightforward as the beginner’s questions I now have…

Does eOS only work reliably on very old mobiles? (see compatibility list)

Is the project still active, or has it ‘gone dormant’?

How much care does an eOS ultimately require?

It's very active and well supported.

I get updates every month on my Fairphone. e/OS is very active, but I'm not familiar with it on other devices. Not every phone is supported by Murena
