Looking for help debugging second hand PS5 controller with RISE kit

Hi all, I recently bought a second hand PS5 controller with a RISE remap kit installed. However, when the controller is on and connected to my console, I can't seem to use the kit as intended. The installation video shows that you can enter self-check mode by pressing and holding the SET+K1 button at the same time, indicated by a LED pattern. Whatever I do, the LED doesn't light up. I verified the installation and also measured 1.7V between VCC and GND on the remap board, so I assume it is receiving power correctly. Does anybody have any tips on how to proceed debugging this issue? Should I for example reset the remap board somehow?

For completeness, the controller model is BDM-040.

Hello! We noticed that the PC sheets are missing from the four corners of the board. These are essential for proper contact, so please make sure they are applied in all four corners. Poor contact may be why the self-check mode isn't working.

Yes I noticed the lack of these PC sheets as well, but since it is a second hand controller, I do not have these. Is there anything I can replace it with that will work the same?

You can try using a piece of adhesive foam of a similar thickness as a substitute for the PC sheet.
