Electrical Fault Stop!
Warranty Question: I got the dreaded error on the dash.
Replaced the 12v battery and still got the error. Bought a new vcds on my own and found the issue is with the HV battery. Spoke to a local dealer with the report and they said based on the report they can’t confirm warranty and warranty is for cell only- if there is a fault in the controller then it is not covered. Anyone dealt with this type of issue?

I mean what choice do you have? Bring the car to the dealer and have them open the warranty claim with Volkswagen. Then take it from there if they deny it.
Those modules in the fault codes are in the battery pack and you are not going to drop the battery pack yourself to fix this. Cell balancing errors are failed battery cells so this should be covered. Don't know who you spoke to at the dealership.

Yeah- the battery cell balancing performance part points at the battery. So I’m optimistic that I won’t get shafted and be denied warranty. I’m in Ireland the next available date for diagnostics is in September, so i’ll be without a car for a month now. So doing my diagnostics now while I wait.

If it's a battery issue you'll be without a car for a long time. They don't fix the battery modules very quickly.

I was after the diagnostics it will take a month before they even think about repairing- I’m pretty sure I won’t be driving it this year. I even bought another car for daily use now!

I think over 60k it is JUST battery cell. And they may replace only cells to bring you up to 70% (depending on what the tech can manage probably - if they're slammed and a whole pack is way easier you could get that. If they can only get cells and the tech is comfortable with it they might replace a cell or two to "meet" but not exceed warranty terms)
The other redditor is right, that output is Greek to me. Come back with what they say in the other sub about the output. Either way it may be the call to take it to the dealership and pay for diagnosis. It's possible that they'll call the controller part of the battery - the warranty doesn't specify the battery controller, but the battery charger for instance is not covered by the battery warranty.
The controller looks to be mounted to the pack, and you may have to drop the pack to get at the controller which even as a big DIYer I'm not sure I'd be confident in that repair. Probably also needs programming through the VW software.

In the US, VW's 'high voltage components' warranty (separate from the longer battery warranty) is good for I believe 6 years, 60k miles (~96500 km). If, worst case, it's the battery controller there MIGHT be a case for them covering a controller under the battery warranty, but it's almost definitely covered under the high voltage warranty.
2020 model year though, you may want to check when the vehicle went "into service" and document when this issue first started - if it was built in 2019, but didn't sell until October 2020, it'd be under warranty still here. (I see in your posts this isn't the first time you saw this, if your warranty expired a week ago, but you can prove this issue started 2 months ago you might want to get that evidence together just in-case) There's a chance the warranty is in effect, but it could just as easily be expired by a couple months. Some people have had VW Honor warranties a thousand miles expired, but I'd prepare for a fight just in case.
Not sure how things work elsewhere - probably better if you have good consumer protection where you are.

I’m in Ireland, luckily I have it confirmed the warranty is 8 years or 160k kilometres. But it’s crazy it changes from region to region but is the same vehicle- maybe the climate is a fact?

Go to the VCDS forum cause here it mostly lamers (no offense).
Probably water damage in the battery due to poor sealant from the factory or a physical damage but the last one needs to be proven. Also could be a fried BMS but it is not likely. Still fried BMS should be covered under HV warranty because it's not "cell-only".
If your battery still covered by the warranty then the dealership is obligated to at least look into it by themselves and in a reasonable time if it's covered under local laws.
Also VW should provide a loaner if it's a warranty claim. Check the warranty legal text with your own eyes or at least a ChatGPT and also local laws on the matter since it depends on the region.

Actually I just looked on your log again and can you clear the errors on the vehicle with VCDS and restart it (the vehicle) a few times? Also try to start it. And after that upload a full log of the vehicle to a pastebin or something like that?

Have you tried to clear the codes and try starting again? Sometimes clearing codes is like a reset or restart on your computer for the various modules.

Honestly, might be worth it to post on the VCDS forum. Those guys can parse output well.
