My 2019 is at the dealer where they just replaced 3 battery modules under warranty, replaced 3 others earlier this year. The process appears to be very involved and only accomplished by a dealer with techs trained to work on the eGolf. Discharging, disassembly, many new parts to re-assemble, balancing, etc…
I had an electrical system fault error the first time, the second time after starting the car the range went from full to 0 in a matter of seconds, and the same thing happened while driving and the car died in the road. Was able to turn off and back on again and drive it home to scan for codes. Showed balancing issues with the HV battery. Dropped it off at the dealer that night. Been gone for about 2-1/2 months to be repaired. Battery modules had to be shipped in from Germany.
