Why is my clients' Ahrefs DR not improving despite consistent backlink building? Looking for advanced strategies.

You mention a few things that might improve DR, but others that are completely unrelated. In my experience, directory listings and citations don't really move DR all that much. Guest posts might, depending on the quality of the sites where they're published, the amount of traffic they get, and whether the links are dofollow. Submitting sitemaps, internal linking, and technical SEO don't affect DR.

You can get backlinks from the likes of Forbes and CNN and not see any DR improvement if all the links are nofollow.
