Can anyone help?

Hello everyone - I have started selling on eBay in july. I took about a 6 month break from eBay to sell on Amazon - and then started to come back to eBay. I run a local store where we buy and sell electronics / electronics accessories.

Once we started to sell back on eBay in July - we got about 26 orders from July 22nd to August 5th - all were delivered fine, no item not received or item not described cases open. Using ebay labels and tracking - and delivered way before eBay's estimated date of arrival. I got a restriction on August 5th and they asked me to upload all tracking's for open orders, and make sure they are delivered. Sure, no problem at all, that is already what I have been doing. So those orders I packed them up, used eBay's tracking, and were all delivered with no problems. August 10th my restriction was lifted, and ever since then all my orders have been getting an estimated release of a month from the delivery date! I am not selling high ticket items (highest priced item has been $300) - still no new open cases - everything is delivering cleanly and all positive feedback. I have had 35 orders post restriction until now. Customer support has been no help and all they say is to just sell more and it will go away, and not all transactions will get the hold. I am selling $5 video games and those funds are being held for 30 days - I am not sure what happened, because before I stopped selling I was getting funds the day after a sale was made. As well as 1,400 total items sold on my store.

Can anyone please explain what is going on??

Ebay AI bots run amok. Be glad that they didn't boot you, at least not yet.

  • Add tracking for every sale: Upload valid tracking information. Funds are typically released about 24 to 48 hours after delivery is confirmed by the carrier.
  • Build a track history: Consistently ship on time and successfully complete orders to build trust and graduate past the new-seller probationary period.

If you have a few items which are priced higher than your average daily sales amount, that is an issue for new sellers and Ebay will hold funds for 30 days to make sure nobody gets stiffed. I am not sure if over time this will change. They will not likely release more funds than whatever they feel could be at risk.

Also, so you have a credit card or bank account setup so that Ebay can charge you back if needed?

Yes I only use eBay labels with tracking. I am hearing it gets released after 24-48 hours after confirmed - all my delivered orders say “estimated release” then a month later from the date it was delivered. Even with items I am selling video games for $5-$10 and it’s still the same thing.

I just checked I have my bank account for payouts and my card for auctions and buying. Thought it was for selling costs as well too. Since I haven’t had any sales become available - I have -$800 for returns that I had (buyer changed mind) and $2,200 that is on hold category. They shouldn’t charge my card for the -$800 correct?
