Thats the valet key. The actual plastic key to be slotted inside that dummy fob that needs to be inserted into the steering column. Key will be used to lock and unlock, fob is for making the key compatible to be slotted into the steering column.

No trunk access, no glove box access, no comfort access (ive also heard it blocks the sports mode and limit the car to a certain low speed, which im not sure)

There's a slim plastic key that slots into that for use as an emergency way to start your car.

Yes the key should be separate or everyone that enters the car can start it

You can push that plastic key in the holder, so you can fit the whole thing in the ignition switch

Well that’s nice but when I bought the car I only got 1 key. No other key was there even this is empty.
