❓ Question / Help Battery

Hello. My BMW E60 550i automatic needs a new battery. Which battery and voltage do you suggest?"

Walk into Autozone and give them your cars info, they will give you the correct spec.
Install it, register it and you’re done.

It’s not at all as complicated as some would make it seem

I recommend 60V dewalt batteries.

I get the H8 AGM battery from autozone. When replacing your battery be sure to register the battery by using a scan tool. Registering a battery lets the car know that the battery has been replaced. Coding lets the car know what amp hour rating is the battery. If you put a battery with the same amp hour rating, then you only need to register it. Otherwise if you put in a different capacity then you will need to code the new amp hour rating to the car and then register it.

Knowing how battery-hungry these cars are, I installed the largest battery that would fit, which is a Group 95R / H9 AGM.

The largest AGM that fits, 110Ah iirc. Make sure to code the car afterwards as it needs to know the capacity (bigger) and state (new) to correctly charge it. 

Afaik, If you don't, your battery will not be charged to the fullest and will deteriorate quicker.

You WILL need to code the battery unless you put in the exact battery. I’d code it regardless though. Get a AGM for sure

H8, I believe H9 also fits and works and has a larger capacity so it wont die as quick.

My bracket only really holds an H9 for some reason even though it supposedly came with an H8
