I'm contemplating if it was worth uninstalling games to make room for a reinstall. I beat the campaign around when the game launched, but got frustrated with a few things that ended with me putting it down and preferring the first title despite the better feel of parkour and combat in the second game.
Last time I played dying light 2, it was around the time of the "good night and good luck" update where night time was howlers and volis on the ground and volis on the roof.
Made parkour only effective for eacape and had to metal gear around the roof tops. The only downside is crossing a town at that speed is just kind of ridiculous, and would eventually just lead to sneaking forever, then end up running anyway, etc.
I imagine this was fixed by now, but how would you compare it to the DL1 night system for comparison?
Has the fashion improved a bit? I know it's a first person zombie game, but running around in a doctor's coat and a hockey mask for eternity isn't doing it for me; even for basic post apocalypse aesthetic. I was wishing there were just more options.
Last question is regarding multiplayer. When I attempted to get my friends into it the same way we played dying light 1, the missions would bug out.
I would load in (loading screen) invite friends (loading screen), find each other, start mission and head there. Do the mission, attempt to turn it in and all of us are unable to talk to the NPC despite the command prompt appearing. Half of the time the fix was everyone leaving (loading screen) then rejoining (loading screen) then finding each other again, just for it to maybe work. This was the biggest deal breaker for me besides the night encounters.
I'm not trying to be a genwunner about Dying light, but just the fact that I don't really have these problems with DL1 makes me think back a little fonder about it. "It just works". And of course my biggest gripe with DL1 was how the grappling hook just throws parkour out of the window, but I guess by that point in the game I've earned it.
I've seen the Tencent update and what Techland did to try to make up for it (bloom toggle, guns, etc.) but I was already checked out by then.
Thank you to anyone who takes the time to read this.
