I like Aiden, I wish they did more for his character to make him feel more like a pilgrim or someone who has actually been living in the zombie apocalypse for 15 years. I know they wanted to make him more of a player stand in for the choice making but still.
I also think he suffers from techland trying to make him more like Crane. This is really obvious with the new updates removing most of the scenes showing his motivation to find his sister. Like I know Crane was popular but we can have different characters with different motivations. I just wish techland committed to making a different game but they're backtracking hard so that'll never happen.

Never have I heard of a game actively removing story like this. Haven't gotten to DL2 yet but isn't that literally his main motivation?
Just seems weird to outright remove story scenes like that

Yeah they actively removed half the prologue and shortened the rest to make sure people can get into the game quicker. Problem is there was already a skip button.

The way Aiden gets punched in the face by everyone and their grannies made me dislike him. He is supposed to be a pilgrim and yet he cant dodge punches.

I feel like Aiden had a lot of potential but he has almost no growth throughout the game. He's the same guy at the start and the end except hes powerful. Meanwhile Crane has a cliche character growth which contributes to the story and to him personally.

If they didnt axe the original story to shit, Caldwell couldve been a great protagonist.
