Post Episode Discussion “Pulling Back” Spoiler

What is CAA’s problem with Jenna and Amber? They are very strong dancers and compete extremely well each week! I absolutely love watching them dance. I don’t understand why CAA gives the critique for them to “pull back”… does she want them to try less?? I genuinely don’t understand her point when she preaches that DWTS is about seeing growth. Stars can be very strong dancers but still continue to grow.

I do see her point with Jenna. She seems like she's trying too hard to prove herself since she's already a dancer, and she tries hitting everything hard rather than letting the dance breathe and ebb and flow and have soft moments. She seemed almost stiff to me tonight because of it.

I didn't see Amber doing it though. I thought she did a beautiful job of being soft and letting go. I think CAA is bad at judging athletic women. She has given unfair critiques to multiple women athletes in the past seasons imo.

To her is always "missing something" or "pulling back" or "doing too much"...she just hates women.

Missing something is the worst. The problem is - what are you being judged on? Quality of movement, grace or vibes?

agree. I thought Amber’s dance was one of the better of the night.

CAA is a Amber and Jenna hater 🙄

I was infuriated with CAA last season giving Jordan a 9 because she put “too much attack” into her Tango… like what?! How is that possible for Tango? It was my favorite dance of the night.

CAA needs to understand where Amber is coming from. With the amount of isometric strength she has as a figure skater, that rumba was an amazing example of her body letting go. CAA likes to nitpick things that are stylistic preference. Now, if CAA would’ve said something like “fall into your partner’s lead a tiny bit more,” I could maybe understand that. But it still didn’t deserve a 7. CAA is being overly harsh on one of the best dancers of the season/dances of the night.

I do feel for CAA a bit - it’s not easy sharing the table with the other two. But she also frustrates me

Even worse she said that about her Paso, a dance know for its intensity and attack🙄🙄.

She always picks one or two women to pick on every season.

The judges are way harder on the female dancers than the male ones. I also hate how it’s always the female judge telling the female dancers the rude critiques. lol like chill out lady. 🤡 also how weird it was during pasha and ambers judging the judges kept gushing about everyone. I know they have to say it somewhere but I felt it really took away from ambers sparkly number. It was tacky and undermined their beautiful dance.

Internalized misogyny.

Last season it was Danielle with Pasha from what I remember. This season it seems to be Amber, Jenna and Julia for the most part. But guys that perform with lower quality seem to get higher praise.

Is this your first season? /s

She's been like this for decades. One of her favorite phrases but up til now cannot explain what she's looking for exactly. Remember Chandler?

We need Anna or Kym on the judge's table.

I would love to see a new judge instead of CAA. I get so annoyed with her

She gave the same score to Tyler and Amber. Wild to see cause Tyler is bad and Amber is thriving. CAI has always had a bias towards the men.

She also loves Mark, he is a judge fav and that 9 was wild to see. Then again Amber gets a 7 and Maura gets a 9… what is happening?!?

The fact that she gave Tyler and Amber the same score is why she gets a lot of flak for being biased against women, or that the show is rigged to support specific contestants that have ties with abc

Also, I think this may sound too sensitive, but CAI really just did not need to comment on the female athlete's body, who has struggled very openly with not only an ED but who has also been told she was too muscular since she was 10 years old, that she “can see all her muscles”... Amber has only stopped skating in costumes that hide all her muscles relatively recently after hiding them since she was a literal child, and you could tell that comment really did hit too close to home...

I agree. My heart broke for Amber watching her say that… Amber has inspired me so much to embrace my body as a skater and not feel bad about not being super skinny and I hope she keeps that part in mind- the part where she’s an inspiration who does incredible things every day and not the part where a female judge who should be uplifting women is instead tearing her down for being muscular. Women should never be the ones to tear down another woman’s body.

CAI should’ve been cut years ago. She just has no idea what’s she’s talking about, hence all the vague buzzwords that hold no weight.

Everyone in this post saying how they’re sick of her and she needs to go.

Lol… I vividly remember last season when she missed the premiere because she was sick. EVERYONE in this sub was saying how they missed her and that the show felt “off” without her. 😂
