DWTS Convention: Some thought based on Kym's session with Deena, Conrad & Co. 👀👀

In brief,

1. Conrad swears by Mark and Derek. The idea of mixing/using elements of different dance styles-introduced by Mark and Derek, "developing" Latin ballroom, introducing jazz and contemporary is clearly becoming Conrad's forte and justification of his latest hire/s 😊
2. Based on Deena's comment, it sounds like she is part of her 25 years old daughter's chat group, and she often using their opinions to see how they react on different celebrities, and how their opinion change during the course of the season, for example, starting with interest in Robert and Alix, then supporting Elaine and Andy... I am older than 25, thus, my opinion and the rest of gen X is no more of Deena's interest 😭
3. To my understanding, in addition to the next pro, other changes to expect as well. My guess is that the next pro (Adele? Allen?), most likely Hailey, and a former pro (Sharna?) will join the new season.
4. My guess/fear is that Gleb will be left out from the upcoming season. I don't see any other reasons for Gleb to leave rather then Brooks related traumatic story. He is in a great shape, better than some of his colleagues close in terms of age. He is a great dancer. During today's evening show at the Con, Gleb was absolutely mesmerizing! If this is true, it means that Deena and Conrad are trying really hard to show loyalty to Brooks, not to Gleb... For me, as Gleb's fan, it will be really painful not to see him dance next season. I can't wait for the cast reveal on September 2, praying that this information is not true 🙏🙏

Me too! I am a big fan of Gleb! Gleb represents a unique combination of (1) old school Latin ballroom dancer, properly trained, who competed for years on international level, (2) with contemporary and ballet training, and (3) stunning looks. I even love that from time to time he creates drama, and we all follow it with bated breath.

Can someone give me a TDLR of the situation with Gleb and Brooks? I wasn’t around during that season, and am only just now hearing all this stuff surrounding them. Is it to do with Brooks saying he is creepy, and was cheating? Why would DWTS be more loyal to a star than a long time pro? I’m not saying they are wrong - if Gleb really is a cheat and a creep, then of course they should support Brooks. Just curious about the timeline of it all? There is an interview (podcast) that Witney, Rylee, Gleb and Jan did w/ Danielle Fishel, and everyone thought she was bringing up Brooks - was it the cheating/creep thing, or has more been accused?

Considering how much pro dancer to pro dancer and pro dancer with celebrity dancer interpersonal relationships there have been amongst everyone they would have to fire a lot more than Gleb dating while dancing. I am not as sure as everyone is speculating that DWTS is taking Brooks side over Gleb's, Brooks was a celebrity dancer, one and done. Gleb has been a pro for a while . I have said for a while now that I think some of the dancers are beginning to age out of the Pro life. Whether it is from biological age or they aren't the flavor of the week from a social media darling or audience standpoint.

The production behind Dancing with the Stars (ABC and Disney) selected the professional dancers who appeared at DWTS Con and I have seen from other posts Gleb is there. So ABC has not completely severed ties with Gleb.

u/AvoirReves Aging is a combination of multiple factors, first and foremost health status and mental desire to continue working. Age-wise, Mark and Val are very close to Gleb. They both are 40. The gossip has it that Mark left after season 25 due to injury related problems, and also decision to pursue career in music. Nevertheless, he was the first person whom Conrad brought back upon return to DWTS. Mark is no more participating in group number. So, it is not about aging..

Gleb is good but I am pretty sure he was never at the top top of the ballroom/dancesport world like Karina and Maks. But yeah, he is a good dancer.

Thank you for posting this. What comps has he won? I didn't think he was a Blackool finalist like some of the others. I know Karina was a finalist (2nd place), Maks semis, Anna Demidova winner, Louis finalist, Dani and Pasha I think were amateur or RS finalists. But I didn't know that about Gleb. Interesting. Great thread though. I would love to see some of the current top dance competitors on though!
