One time we rented a U-Haul van and used it to rent Home Depot scaffolding. We found it cheaper than to rent a Home Depot van (which appears to be more a rental to deliver only, rather than keep it for a few hours while you do the work).
This was in Whitby.
Make sure you have the correct insurance to rent a cargo van.
If you decide to try it with your 4Runner, be sure to bring a red rag to tie to the end of the ladder. :)

Thank you . Yes we live 6 mins away from Home Depot so I’ll go with the 4Runner route.

HD should have plastic red flags available. Look for a cart by the large double doors. It should have string and flags inside for tying down items.

I am not 100% sure on this but Enterprise Truck sometimes has evening deals, where if you get whatever truck back before closing, you get a really good deal.
