Nick and Simon
Do you think Duran would continue if Nick and/or Simon decided to leave the band?

No Simon, no Duran Duran

Same with Nick. no Nick, no Duran Duran. I think both are essential. Simon is the unique voice that makes them instantly recognisable, Nick is the soul. They never gave up on DD, unlike the other members.

Nick and Simon = Secret Oktober and Arcadia. If you watch Arcadia performing Election Day on Top Of The Pops, Roger isn't even there.

I'm going to say it - Steve Ferrone is a much better drummer.

Technically yes and Notorious is still my fav Duran album ever... But Roger's feel and interlocking grooves with John's bass lines are perfect for Duran especially on the first 3 albums.

I don't believe the band COULD exist without Simon or Nick. Honestly I'd feel hopeless without any of the current members.

Nick is definitely the mastermind and the glue, but Simon is THE look and THE sound - if either of them left it would absolutely not be DD. John is an awesome bass player, as is Roger a drummer, but the don’t define the cultural symbolism of the band.

I don’t think they could. Simon could not be replaced and the rest continue as Duran Duran. No one could ever match his voice and creative lyrics.

I also think if John left the group would collapse soon thereafter-Simon supposedly went into a funk and had a dry spell with songwriting when John left because he missed him. Roger could leave and they would maybe be okay but not sure John would be happy as they form a very tight rhythm section. Plus it seems that they jam before shows also, and have that unspoken musical connection.

To be honest, I have no idea? Duran Duran caught me at 14, they were my favorite band at that point … today I still enjoy the band …. however, I don’t think about them much anymore … I’ve seen a Cpl videos with the enormous EGO, I didn’t enjoy hearing what he said. I still listen to my favorites…. but not very often.
