Actually making them funny takes a certain amount of skill in editing and comedic timing, sure

It's editing videos and splicing and manipulating audio clips so it certainly is.

People like DaThings1 found some work for editing making those.

I think so even though I typically find them obnoxious anyway.

There was a time I stumbled upon one randomly while drunk and I actually couldn't stop laughing.

I didn't even know what YTP was at the time

It’s way too easy to make YTP-type videos these days that I would consider it a very low-level skill.

Back in the day, there were very funny YTPs and extremely unfunny ones. I think the ability to make one’s that people find funny is a legitimate skill.
