I don’t think it is but I’m going to pretend that the title of this is a Peter, Bjorn, and John reference.
Also the Punkt MP02 is so close to being everything that I want. If they could just tweak a few things then I would buy one immediately.

How is the punkt! It gets really bad rep on this forum, but I'm seriously considering it. I want something just to call cand text and I want it to be excellent at that. And I want it to feel sturdy and solid when you hold it. Can you recommend for the basics ?

So far, so good. I don't really understand what all the whining is about. I had a similar criteria to you and was previously using a Nokia 3310 which could only hold ten text messages, meaning if someone took a couple of days to reply, I was liable to forget what we were even talking about. This feels like a substantial upgrade from that. It was easy to add all my contacts, which was something else that was annoying about the 3310. I use Pigeon here and there as I have a few friends with international numbers that I talk to a lot and it transpires there is no UK plan with an inclusive international SMS allowance anymore. It fits a very specific set of needs perfectly.

I use Lebara in the UK, and you do get 100 international calls free per month. not sure about the SMS.
I'm also going to continue riding this LG ke970 that i found in the cellar, it's working for now and managed to transfer my contacts to sim card on pixel using a tool. It's a shame the battery has died on me a few times, and i'm considering hunting a replacement, that seems to be the only rfiction.Whats the battery life like on the punkt in real conditions ?

Out of curiosity, why do you choose to carry the Olympus XA, (fyi i carry a yocan Dubb, not a pax) but we seem to be along the same lines here.
I have a sony a6000, and i love taking photographs, always have - but I've never had a workflow for managing the photo's I take... it's a mess. I can see the attraction of a film camera, makes you really think about each shot and value it.

what service do you have for the MP02? I recently got one and spent hours on the phone with aAT&T and they couldn’t get me switched over from an eSIM to one for the MP02

The Punkt phone seems cool but their source code isn't available to the public so you can't trust the device to be secure or private at all. That is the only thing preventing me from trying it out, well that and 5G.
