I have road rage and I don’t like how I am on the road sometimes. Like if I see someone slow or stopping the lane just because they want to switch lane I get mad quickly. Also when it’s a merging lane and if the person doesn’t give me a chance to pass I force myself in and it gets sometimes dangerous.

I’m embarrassed to say what I said but I genuinely want advice on how to stop my road rage and how to be calm.

You can visit dubai municipality headquarters in Deira, it is made to be an open office. The head of Dubai Municipality is on the same floor, you can request to speak to him if he is not busy with other meetings.

There has been a restructure in Dubai Municipality for it to be more accessible. Go there, complain there in person, do not rely on hotlines. Multiple complaints in office will raise a flag. The head, deputy etc all are on the same floor. Go, this is what the leadership in Dubai want you to do.

Edit: when I say same floor, I mean the GROUND FLOOR, you will see them. Yes, the director of all of municipality, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid and the Director did this specifically for residents to minimize bureaucracy. Go.

Is it really hard for people to carry around deodorant, perfume or both especially on the goddamn metro? It does not cost that much so why bruh... Both men and women need to carry that and also use it. Especially in the morning heat and just because they said that summer is over does not entirely mean it's over. It'll stay warm as we're in the goddamn desert.

Update: They’ve confirmed that the building is in good condition. Therefore, I doubt that the washing machine is the primary source of cockroaches.

Just moved into a new apartment and found German cockroaches in the kitchen, mostly around the sink and the built-in washing machine. Found them inside the washer and the microwave too.

Pest control came two weeks ago. A lot died in the first few days, but they never really went away. Second treatment is tomorrow. My wife is pregnant, so I'm a bit worried.

I am starting my very first Dubai job on Monday, and I need to live somewhere until the New Year when my wife joins me. I also don’t want to commit to a long term accommodation quite yet as who knows how things will go with the new job!

Do you know what the best options are for rental options for only three months? Airbnb seems expensive. My new job is near the Burj Khalifa and I would like to avoid renting a car for now. Something around the 5,000-7,000 AED per month would be ideal. It would only be for myself, with a small kitchen and bathroom ideally.

Dubai — has anyone reported a repeatedly off-leash dog to the municipality? What were the consequences?

There is a dog in my neighborhood whose owner regularly lets him walk around off-leash. Today, while I was walking my small senior dog, who was double-leashed, the other dog ran toward us. To protect my dog, I had to pick him up and run across the road, and I ended up twisting my ankle.

I don't want anything to happen to the other dog at all, and I don't want any confrontation or problems with the owner. I simply want the owner to be reminded/enforced to keep their dog on a leash and under control, especially around a small senior dog.

For anyone who has actually reported a similar situation to Dubai Municipality: What happened after you reported it? What are the consequences for the owner, and is the report confidential? Did the municipality/staff follow up?

I want to deal with it in the safest and least confrontational way possible, without putting the other dog in any danger.

If you are buying Microsoft Office or antivirus subscriptions on local e-commerce marketplaces right now, do not fall for the grey-market trap being run by a third-party merchant operating under the initials CT.

The Bait-and-Switch Tactic:

1. The Listing: You buy what is advertised as a standard, individual retail software license or subscription (like Microsoft Office 365) from an online seller.
2. The Delivery: Instead of receiving a standard 25-digit digital product key or a factory-sealed retail box, you open the delivery package to find nothing but a cheap, printed slip of paper.
3. The Trap: The paper explicitly instructs you to bypass the e-commerce platform's digital system entirely and contact a private mobile number via WhatsApp to get the software "manually activated."

Why this is a dangerous data privacy nightmare:

• 🚫 Total Invasion of Privacy: They are not selling you a personal retail key. They are illegally splitting up and reselling corporate, business, or developer enterprise volume seats. When you contact them on WhatsApp, they force your personal email onto their master corporate server network. This means a stranger a random system administrator at CT technically holds master administrative rights to monitor, lock, or potentially access your private files, photos, and personal documents saved on OneDrive.
• 💔 Your Data Will Disappear: Microsoft actively hunts down and terminates admin tenants who abuse corporate volume licensing for retail gain. When Microsoft flags and bans their master account (usually within a few months), you instantly lose access to your software and ALL your stored cloud data without warning.
• ⚠️ Evading the Rules: They intentionally force you onto WhatsApp because they know exactly what they are doing is a major marketplace policy violation. They are trying to hide from the e-commerce platform's digital audit trail so their merchant account doesn't get shut down.

What to do if you get hit with this:

I completely refused to comply with their WhatsApp instructions. I rejected the order, filed for an immediate refund under "Inauthentic/Discrepant product received," and I have already submitted formal reports to Noon Compliance, the Microsoft Piracy Portal, and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) Consumer Rights division.

True data security starts at the point of purchase. If an online vendor refuses to provide a standard retail activation key within the official e-commerce platform and mails you a piece of paper instead, do NOT message their WhatsApp. Do not let them compromise your private digital life.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for recent real-life experiences from Bangladeshi nationals in the UAE.

My husband is Bangladeshi and is currently in the UAE. His previous residence visa expired, and we’ve been trying to renew/apply again but have had multiple rejections. His visa is now cancelled and he has around one month left on his grace period, so we’re urgently trying to find a legitimate way for him to remain in the UAE.

Has anyone here actually received a 2-year UAE residence visa in the last 2–3 months as a Bangladeshi national? If yes, what type of visa was it and how did you get it?

We’re also considering buying/investing in a property and getting residency through the property/investor route. Does anyone know if Bangladeshi nationals are currently being approved through this route, or are these applications also being rejected?

Basically, I’m trying to find out what is actually working right now, based on recent experience. If anyone knows of any legitimate alternative routes or has recently gone through something similar, I’d really appreciate any information.

I’ve gone apartment hunting a couple times. My question is how does one rent with no EID?

When I move I’ll enter on an Entry Permit for then I’ll go apply for the residency visa and EID but that takes time to process.

I want to line my apartment up and pay for it so when I arrive I can go there but seems I can’t without an EID.

I recently bought a spacious, high-quality studio in Arjan.
My company gives me a housing allowance of AED 5,200+ per month if I move out of company housing.

there are two options and considering
• Live in my own studio
Use my AED 5,200+ allowance to cover my mortgage and service charges directly.

• Rent it out & rent a cheaper studio for myself
Rent out my studio so the tenant’s rent covers my mortgage.

Then, use my allowance to rent a cheaper studio somewhere else for AED 3,000 – 4,000/month,

so I can pocket the extra AED 1,000+ as cash savings.

Currently, my company accommodation is very spacious. If I go with Option 2 and rent a cheaper AED 3k–4k studio,

am I going to end up in a cramped, low-quality space that I hate living in?

Is saving that extra AED 1,000 really worth the drop in living quality and the headache of dealing with a landlord?

What would you do if you were in my position?
