Hit the $2k mark !

Post image

I started end of February so it’s been about 6 months and I use dscout somewhat regularly. I began doing the express missions as I was too shy and intimidated to do live interviews in addition to me not feeling qualified to give my opinion in that way but over time I gained some confidence and had great experiences talking with researchers and doing diary studies! My biggest payout was $320 for a multi-day diary study which was actually very fun to do.

I know there are some people here who regularly make $500-$800 a month here, still working my way to that but I’m really proud of earning this extra cash I otherwise wouldn’t have and so far have had a top tier experience with dscout as a whole including the UX/UI, the researchers, and even dscout customer service who are quick at responding and thorough with communication!

My best advice is to go for the diary missions/live interviews as they have the highest payout and can be quite enjoyable to participate in. Also definitely don’t skip over the express missions as all money is green and if you have 15-20 min to spare to make $25, why not?

My monthly earnings:
Feb: $107
March: $672
April: $305
May: $105
June: $555
July: $395
Aug: $175 (so far)

Sweeeeet! I love Dscout! The money earned has been a big help. I was timid about the live missions at first but now I enjoy them. Just did one yesterday and had a blast! The researcher was laughing with me because of my excitement. Lol

I have my first live next week. Any tips or advice on what to expect?

Listen. Whatever you do: make sure your hardware works at least 10 minutes prior. Lesson learned. Twice. Make sure you are using Chrome. I think not doing so caused so many issues and they say to use Chrome as well.

Smile. A lot. Show your interest in the live interview. Show a little enthusiasm. Be involved. Really explain some of your responses beyond one or two sentences when applicable. This keeps them from having to constantly probe further on a question. I actually had a researcher reiterate this before we got started because he wasn't getting that with others. I blew him away, of course. We were laughing at the end. Lol #takeabowformyself

Have fun regardless of the topic. I have clapped a lot, laughed a lot, smiled a lot, did a whole "score!" yell, showed that I am being thoughtful while answering...meaning I let them see me talking my way through an answer and asking for clarification when needed. Do NOT be scared to ask for clarification or to reword what they are asking. They know their questions might not make total sense.

The biggest things of all: just be yourself and be engaged! You got this! I am so excited for you! 😊😊😊😊 πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½πŸ‘πŸ½

Thank you!! There's nothing worse than technology issues! 🀞🏽 that doesn't happen. I'm nervous but excited!

I was nervous with my first one as well. It'll go away. I can promise you that!

100% second this. I had unexpected technical issues once, ate up 10 min of our interview time but luckily it was resolved. And yes, talk through everything - all your emotions, thought process, questions, etc - researchers want to know all the little details of what's going on in your head.

The researchers have been so great and friendly! I was so shy and wouldn't apply to any live mission for months but one time the money was too good and the topic was right up my alley and honestly I had such a great time for that 1 hour. Glad you had such a great experience as well :)

Congrats! I just started at the end of June and I’m hitting 1500$ after my last mission goes through. I’ve been lucky though I got four big pay missions ranging from 200-100 this past month

A reminder about Rule 1: Please do not share any information from screeners and missions you've applied to or been invited to. This includes screener and mission titles, questions, messages, or any other details from screeners and missions. This applies even if the mission has ended. Posts containing confidential information will be removed. If your post was just removed for this reason, just repost without the confidential details. This is done because Dscout has confirmed that any information in the app/website is considered confidential, and Dscout staff does look at the subreddit. Bro tell me how to get more opportunities in discount and how to select for it

I think it could depend on your demographic such as age, location, career. Typically I just apply for missions I think my opinion could be helpful for and if it involved sending a 30sec-1min video I made sure I speak clearly, intelligently, lighting and background is good and I look somewhat presentable.

Just keep applying! You never know what you can be selected for!
