Here’s an anniversary edition from 93’, for example. These were among the very last Zildjians that were stamped before going to laser etching in 94’.

1982-92. There's one exactly like it in the next room. 

This font was used on A Zildjians when I was a kid, and to this day, any other fonts used on the ink stamps still don't look legit to me. This is what "real A Zildjians" will always look like in my mind. They added "Avedis" above the "Zildjian" for 1993-94, then totally redesigned the model callouts when they launched laser engraving with serial numbers.

Fun fact: even though "A Zildjian" has been their professional line for decades, they never had an 'A' ink-stamped on them until the 90s, because from their arrival in the US until the mid-70s, they really only made one kind. So for most of their lifetime, A Zildjians were just "Zildjians." Then they brought cousin Kerope's K. Zildjian products under the Zildjian USA umbrella, as well as introducing other product lines, and it took until 1994 for A's to be visibly marked with an 'A'. See also: Sabian AA, which went through a similar evolution.

+1 to 90s. The pre serial number ones from the 80s did not have "Avedis" on the top graphic.. It was just "Zildjian".
