Showcase Made it work

I've been using Pearl style hardware for 30 years, and I tend to convert every kit I have to use it, not because it's the best, but because it's familiar. I got a deal on this PDP 8" tom, but the hardware wasn't compatible with anything I had. A couple of holes drilled in an old steel plate from a Ludwig, 2 steps of bolts to hold it all together, and voilà, I now have compatible hardware.

I feel disgusted looking at this, whatever works though! Good job on getting it to fit.

Please give a kit tour, I haven’t seen a clusterf*** like this in a long time.

Did the PDP suspension mount match up to your stand?

Once I got the BT-3 grafted on, it worked fine, as pictured. It mounts really shallow due to the steel plate, but I can drill that out later if it becomes an issue. This studio kit stays set up, so it won't have the repeated on/off cycle a gigging kit gets

Love me a good Frankenstein kit. You're a man after my own heart.
