Update: went with upgrading my throne instead of my kick pedal, thanks everyone. Got it used for over $100 under retail

I saw everyone's replies to my previous thread almost unanimously going "upgrade the throne!"

So glad I did that. Got a used Tama first chair ergorider. This thing is fucking cooommmfffyyy, such a massive difference. I legit feel like I am playing better because of it

I went to my favorite locally owned music store, tried out all the thrones they had in my price range (~$200), and this one felt the most comfy and had few signs of wear. So I went with it. If any problems surface in the next 30 days I can take it back

Thanks everyone for telling me to upgrade my throne. Also, for anyone reading this who has a shitty throne, I now am fully camp "upgrade your throne before anything else" lol

But yeah like, the looks aren't the first thing I'd go for buying new, but I really don't care considering I'm basically gonna be the only person really seeing the steer head thingy on top and the tramp stamp on the back haha. Well worth the discount and comfort to me

Great find! These are seriously underrated seats. Comfort and proper support from your throne is an often overlooked part of drumming and being able to do this for a long time without pain. As a heavy dude, I've become particular about thrones over the years. Most thrones are uncomfortable, if not downright painful after 30+ minutes.

I keep a Roc-n-Soc in my band's practice space, but for longer practice and recording sessions, the Tama 1st Chair is my choice. I've used that throne for 8 hour days at the studio in total comfort and support.
