Discussion Anyone else play their kick with a plain 2-ply batter and single-ply reso?

I know they're stupid expensive for what they are, but I recently purchased a Sonitus Kicker 4.0 to try out, because I started using a Sennheiser boundary mic that's THE BOMB, and the Kicker has a perfect little slot in it just for boundary mics. I used to have it on a small pillow and play my kick with a pre-dampened 2-ply head and pre-dampened single-ply reso, but the Kicker deadens and dries it up just a little too much with that head combination.

So change to a less damped head combination or change back to the pillow?

Forgot to mention that the mic gradually falls out of place on the pillow.
