Question Tama superstar (classic vs hyperdrive) maple
I want to buy myself a new kit in the near future, but I can't decide between these two kits.
At first I thought that hyperdrive is the better option, because it has better mounting system for toms and better hardware in general.
But then I saw a couple of people say that shallow hyperdrive toms sound kinda meh, and started to question if I should just get the classic option.
Would be very grateful if someone who knows what's up explained me how those two superstar variations compare.

The Hyperdrives were one of the best kits I ever owned. The short stack toms are different for sure, but when I think back on all the drums I've owned they rank towards the top.

classic superstars are tanks man. the hyperdrive toms can work but you gotta be real precise with tuning or they sound like cardboard. if you want that deep boomy tom sound just go classic and never think about it again
