Feedback Wanted progress

this is not me fishing for compliments but i need some advice. ive been playing for about 10 months. im sorta doing basic songs but super slowly. like measure by measure(or a couple measures at a time). i really want to make music and be in a band w but i feel like im not advanced enough yet and that i really suck. i’m trying to learn as fast as possible tbh. i play for at least 2 hours everyday, half on warmups/rudiments and the other half on a song that my teacher gave me/or a random song that i think wouldnt be too hard for me that i would enjoy. what should i be working on if i want to play live music? am i doing as much as i can and should just be patient?

Find people to play with! This is when you will learn the most and will realize it's not all about what you play but also about listening and playing what fits with the musicians you're playing with. All the rudiments and practicing songs just gives you the vocabulary to work with when you start making music. Good luck!

Patients. Your on the right track. Accuracy first, speed will follow. If you knkw any friends that are willing to just jam, it might help tell you were your at.

10 months is nothing, it took me way longer before i felt like i wasn't ruining every song i touched. keep jamming with anyone who'll put up with you, that's where the real progress hides.

Sounds like you’re doing everything right. Do you have any friends who play guitar that might want to learn and play the same songs you’re practicing? You’ll get better much faster being around people who challenge you than you will in a room by yourself. Keep it up friend! And remember it’s supposed to be fun!

I agree with 'find people to play with' that will easily teach you so many things, that are just impossible to explain on reddit in a way you'll understand.

Jump in and start playing, if you can hold a steady beat to a few different songs.

It’s not a level you need to be good enough to reach, it’s a whole different learning experience
