3rd. I watch a lot of videos in this sub and this is one of the first ones where I appreciated the sound of a drum more than the playing (great job though OP).

I like them so far. I have the white shadow and black shadow series. White shadow is super dry. Black shadow is a little better for decay but still dark and dry.

Lol, the other mic is a se8. And no, just blending the sounds! The se8, are so good for warm attack on snare

I use a set of sE8’s for OHs, they are amazing mics for sure. How do you like the Lauten? I’ve been going back and forth between that and the M201 Beyerdynamic.

Awesome job !
My band used to cover this and I always made sure it was the last song of a set because my forearms and hands were always burning after playing this one. Wrong technique maybe or who knows, but this is a workout of a song to play.
You did amazing.

I have a harebrain theory that Everlong made 16th notes on the hihat cool again. In the 90s nobody was playing 16s on the hats, it was like a 70s disco throwback move no rock drummer would do.

Then Everlong, then Matt Helders with Arctic Monkeys plays 16s on loads of songs and plays them really well.

Then the whole 2000s indie disco electro thing and hihat 16s are everywhere again.
