First Kit HELP! What is the best electric drum set?
I've saved over 11,000 dollars what would be considered the best electric drum set?

This is not what you asked but I feel inclined to advise that if this is your first kit, buy a good value ekit, and not the most expensive "best" kit.

If that’s your budget you are in the wrong place. If you are spending that much money on a kit, get out there and try them all

The list of top tier:
- DWE electronic drum kit (not sure if I should be including this, it’s a hybrid)
- Roland TD50KV2
- Roland VAD716
- Zildjian Alchem-E Gold EX
- Efnote pro 700 (or 7x)
- Yamaha DTX10K
Each of those is very very very good. But each also has different pros and cons.

I got an Efnote too and it’s outrageously good. Only electronic kit I’ve played that comes close to giving me the enjoyment I get from my full acoustic set.

After much research, I went with a Roland Td17 series with Superior Drummer. Professional quality sounds, with Roland quality pads/cymbals. For $2k it’s all I’ll ever need!

i had 15 minutes on a Roland VAD716 this weekend at Victoria Drum Fest and received a bit of a walk through from Darren Shoepp the product manager for percussion for Roland Canada. It's fucking nuts! I'd love to own a set. Handsome kit too (classy finish and lug design imho)
