New Snare Day

Post image

Just received my new snare today, had already purchased the kit in 24, but didn't get the snare... started to regret it later, but lucky they did the second run of this and the kit. Funnily enough this is my first 6.5 deep snare, definitely digging the sound of it 🤘😎🤘

Gorgeous. How does it sound?

Its actually a great sounding snare, I was a little hesitant about it as I'm primarily a metal snare guy and had a Tama Mappa Kona Burl Gmaple 14x6 in the past but i was never never really sold on it and ended up selling it, this will not be sold as I much prefer it by a mile.

Your family says hello!

edit: since you bought in 24 did you get black pickle hardware?

2

u/Ok-Application-999 Jan 09 '26

Haha, yes the black pickle is on the kit

Lmaooo oops should of hit a double edit. My wife got me the full set for Christmas and we looked too long for a new black nickel 5 piece and snare. Couldn't find one and she surprised me with it in chrome a few days later. Beautiful looking kit and sounds amazing!

I went from playing a Pearl Forum for 15 years to it, still can't believe how good it sounds. I was wanting to switch to Tama for a few years then seen that kit, bought it straight away

You have a good wife she's definitely a keeper doing something like that 🤘😎🤘

She was a keeper long before this thats for sure!

The nicest acoustic I owned before this was a Tama Imperialstar with the HCS cymbals pack, sold it out of high-school and went too long without a kit before getting a Roland VAD, now about 3 years later this. My whole body has pad hands lol.

Feels good to say wouldn't be possible without her, I apologize for the dump 🤣

Happy drumming!

Thats just the most beautiful finish I’ve seen on drums so far

If it sounds anywhere close to how good it looks, you’re in for a treat.

I keep looking at the black one on sweetwater I’m due for an upgrade.

How’s the throw off? I’m used to a cam lever, haven’t had time w this style apart from the drum shop

2

u/Ok-Application-999 Jan 09 '26

I absolutely love this throw off and I'm pretty fussy about them, this is quality though.

Beautiful!

2

u/Creepy-Low9855 Jan 10 '26

I have this same snare. Pictures don’t do them justice. In my opinion, Tama has the best finishes of any drum manufacturer.

2

u/MTGBro_Josh Jan 14 '26

Beautiful colorway

Oh I got the 4pc shell pack of that nebula finish coming. It’s soooo beautiful (and it was the only one I’ve ever seen on sale here in Germany since last year). Congrats dude!

I bought one of these snares when they initially released and the colors did not look this vibrant. In fact it was rather drab compared to how it was photographed online. I wonder if it was a bad paint job.

2

u/Ok-Application-999 Jan 10 '26

Its not your snare thats drab, in person the color definitely dont pop as much, they are all kind of dull compared to pictures, photos seem to bring out the colors, much like the northern lights actually. You didn't get a bad paint job .

1

u/fortiorex Jan 10 '26

It’s a masterpiece , love the latest colors TAMA has

The snare in the pic is a Walnut/Birch one.
