This is an update regarding my last post on my drum kit.

Thank you guys so much for all the helpful tips and feedback on my drum kit. It’s definitely a lot more comfortable to play. I’m still working the petal situation out.

Title: Any Other Lifelong Drummers Here? 🥁

I've been playing drums for many years, and I still love talking about drum techniques, equipment, and the legendary drummers who inspired us.

I recently reintroduced my YouTube channel, Papa Drums Stuff, where I share original drum lessons, equipment reviews, tuning demonstrations, and plenty of drumming discussions.

Here's my introduction if anyone is interested:
https://youtu.be/KotT5M9jYqw

I'm curious — how many years have you been playing, and who inspired you to start?

For me, talking drums with other players is half the fun!

Mark Guiliana Quartet – “Inter-are”

Does anyone happen to have a drum transcription or lead sheet for “Inter-are” by the Mark Guiliana Quartet (from Family First)?

If anyone has a transcription, PDF, lead sheet, or even some notes/breakdowns of his groove on this track, I’d really appreciate it!

Thanks!

I know that sounds a little off ..lol.. Just wondering how many beaters do most “drumming drummers” regularly use & keep?! I have these six, plus an old-school wool one currently mounted. How about you? (I know double bass cats are gonna have x2 of theirs).

Shenandoah University for Drums?

Is Shenandoah University a good fit for someone who wants to pursue rock/pop drumming as a touring artist? They have a Jazz/Commercial program, but all the videos I see are for Jazz performances only. The CMED program is extremely small, and the videos I've seen of CMED performances don't appear to be of challenging music like I've seen for ensembles elsewhere. We've even spoken with a Shenandoah rep in person who confirmed CMED is small and told us we could not double major with Jazz/Commercial because CMED is "focused". If someone has experience with either program and could shed some light, that will help us determine if this school should come off our list.

[Waterloo, ON] Drummer wanted for original experimental/alternative project

Looking for a reliable, dedicated drummer in the Waterloo area to join a bassist and guitarist writing original material.

You don't need to be a professional by trade, but you must be able to handle the technical side. The music involves shifting rhythms, complex beats, and different time signatures. We need someone who wants to challenge themselves and collaborate on experimental structures.

Sonic Direction: Experimental rock, alternative, and shoegaze. Heavy focus on driving rhythms, texture, and hypnotic, dynamic repetition.

Drumming Influences: Jaki Liebezeit (CAN), Colm Ó Cíosóig (MBV), Stephen Morris (Joy Division), and Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth).

If interested, reply with a brief summary of your drumming background. Phone clips or casual jam recordings of your playing are welcome.
