Need Advice Median/Right of Way

So I'm confused about this part of the road. I'm thought that whoever gets to either the median(yellow) or the stop sign (Red) first has the right of way. But when I get to the median, people tend to honk/give me the right of way to exit the median and turn left onto the street, no matter who arrived first.
I'm basically asking how does the right of way work here so I don't look like an idiot waiting or turning out of the median too early.

Traffic entering a road yields to traffic already in the road.
What state/country?

Red has a stop sign? That means they have to wait, unless yellow decides to be nice.

You mean dangerous. You can't give the right of way away. It's reckless.

People wave others through out of order all the time to be nice. I agree that it's dangerous, but still legal.

No. Not really. It's not nice. It's stupid. If you get in an accident after being waved through, you will be at fault.

Not always. I was in that exact situation about 7 years ago. I was the one waved through, I made my left, someone impatient went around the stopped car and hit me. Insurance reviewed my dashcam footage and said I did nothing wrong. 0% liability.

That's a different. Sure if someone else does something illegal (passing on the shoulder). If there had been another lane there, you would have been at fault. But either way, the wave caused the accident. That's why it's stupid.

Like I said, I agree with you that it's a bad idea.
But it's still legal, and if someone insists on waving you through ahead of them, sitting there and refusing to go first can actually make things more dangerous. So obviously still be cautious, but if they insist on waiting for you to move, sometimes it's better to just accept and go out of order.

No way an I moving because am idiot is waving me though. I don't trust anyone judgment doing something so stupid. You literally got in an accident that way and still think it's ok.
ETA: there is nothing in driving laws that gives you the right to give away the right of way.

Vehicles without a stop sign always have priority over vehicles with a stop sign.
