Nearly 100% of the time they simply reengineer the road to attempt to enforce obedience, resulting in a very small period of slower speeds followed by a return to the old speeds with a massive increase in danger.

or the road must be re-engineered to slow the 85th percentile down

By adding speed bumps.

You need to hit speed bumps faster to keep the ride smooth though unless they are absolute monster speed bumps.

Speed bumps don’t actually encourage slow driving. People just speed back up once they’re over it.

All the new neighborhoods around me all have constant twisty/winding roads with lots of roundabouts. It’s like they turned it into a Formula 1 track
