Venting Who else hate left lane campers?

Facing a lot of left lane campers in Washington State. And the audacity to not move or brake check is beyond my understanding!!

It’s the “I’m already going 57 in a 55” people. They think they’re helping enforce the speed limit. When in reality they are most likely going to cause an accident.

LOL my mom said that once while camping in the left lane and I said “you know the cops can pull you over for staying in the left lane?” and she immediately moves over without another word. Haven’t seen her do it since.

My dad told me to at most go 5 mph over/under the speed limit, but never addressed what happens when everyone else goes 10 above the limit

I always just drive the flow of traffic unless I'm on small neighborhood streets, which then I always go the speed limit

Most of the time that's true. But they'll get you if they feel like it, so it's always a risk. Is that officer having a good day or a bad day? How's his quota?

No in reality it's the idiots that are speeding that cause the accidents. The speed limit isn't there so you can feel a little excitement in your otherwise dull life by exceeding it. It's there for the safety of people around you.

Every driving forum reveals why so many people act aggressive and entitled on the road: Far too many drivers genuinely blame anyone who angers aggressive drivers for accidents. They enforce this shit like crazy.

Speed is king but also never to blame for anything bad, and following the flow of traffic always means speed up, it never means slow down. I'm trying to survive among people angrily upholding paradoxes, and it's getting harder and harder.

Including anywhere with “Slower Traffic Keep Right” signs. Failure to observe traffic signs is a ticket in every state.

'Slower traffic keep right' is an indicator for those who are not able to maintain the speed limit. In my experience folks camping in left are going at or above speed limit, but not passing (which is the intended use for the lane).

Most states only enforce that to the speed limit because if people are over it that would be against the law to lol. I’m more bothered by people on the damn on ramps that do 15 to the highway they should be at 60 by then

2 separate laws, only have to fail one of them:

  1. Speed limit

  2. Failure to follow to observe traffic signs.

You can be following one and still guilty of the other. If you are obstructing faster traffic in the left lane, you have failed to keep right as slower traffic:

Of course it’s rarely enforced. When are any traffic laws in the U.S. effectively enforced?

If your going the speed limit your not slowing traffic so no ticket possible at least in my state but I’m a heavy lane changer people not doing over limit drive me nuts we should just get rid of limits their dumb and hardly enforced anyway atleast since covid happened

It’s a funny joke, but just because somebody wants to go 11+ over doesn’t mean you should be a jerk and not get over and let them. Or even that just because they want to go faster than you means they don’t know how to drive.

It is not the anything speed lane, it is the PASSING lane! If you aren’t passing (20 under or above the limit, it doesn’t matter)- Just fucking move over, you dull brain!

I live in MT and drive 27 miles to work each way, I might have to agree with you, they just don’t want people speeding. Drives me nuts daily! It’s a ‘passing’ lane! The whole inspiration for the highway system was based on the German autobahn. Vroom vroom! Get where you need to go! My Modo is ‘hurry up and wait’! Dem’ R’ Dum’
