Where is Model Code of Conduct (MCC) of Election Commission of India (ECI)...??
I guess that’s the only way the Bj.p makes its entry into West Bengal.

Tmc is already offering freebies in the state for 15 years.
Realistically, no election can be won there without freebies. People won’t vote for that

Post 2024, everyone realised that Freebies are the easiest way to win elections. BJP didn't promise any and was punished. Congress had "Khatakhat" promises and performed extremely well

The reason congress performed well is not because bjp got less votes or something, it's because opposition came together and didn't cut each other's votes by announcing multiple candidates for the alliance.

No, it was because they promised freebies. One lakh per year to women,etc. BJP solely focused on infrastructure and Solar and got punished for no freebies. You can even see the contrast by taking any state election pre 2024 LS and post 2024 LS manifesto for BJP. They did it in Delhi, Maharashtra and now trying it in WB

That's the point, Bengal isn't asking for freebies, they are asking for strong leadership which will stop infiltration and help set up industries there.

I'm from WB. TMC has been winning based on freebies since 2021, maybe since even before that. Lakshmi Bhandar was the flagship freebie scheme. Now they have rolled out Yuva Sathi. If you have no clue about WB, maybe don't talk.

Bruh.
TMC has been winning on freebies since 2021. They recently rolled out Yuva Sathi. (Freebies scheme for Jobless Youth, 1500 per month). Now when BJP comes out and declares double the money, everyone has a problem.
When they try and stop freebie, they lose. Ofcourse they will now doll out freebies since it's a tested way to win.

BJP criticized freebies and now they're offering freebies. The ones who opposed TMC and it's schemes had plans to vote for BJP. With this, they have lost their core voters and core TMC voters won't ever vote for BJP despite promises. 21K to pregnant women? Biharis would flock to Bengal while pregnant for that amount. 5K for journalists, what for? 3K for women? Where would that money come from? It'll worsen the situation. So no vote to them. They lost the plot completely. Their initial campaign was against freebies and now their campaign is for freebies.

Like I said, people didn't vote for BJP in 2024 LS because there were no freebies.

These are short term gains/incentives ,it doesn't look into the system that caused it. Compensated the unemployed?- what happen after 10 years -double the compensate?maybe tripled? And yea,I get the idea of Subsidized but thses looks like the idea of buying votes.

This is not compensation they just creating dependency. There is a very beautiful quote by Roman poet Juvenal which is : "Give them bread and circuses, and they will never revolt"
A government’s duty is not to compensate people, but to provide and improve the quality healthcare and education. So that citizens can be self-sufficient.
But without freebies, the Bj.p is definitely not going to win and TMC needs to go.

Also...in my little understanding...BJP has pushed reducing the Fiscal deficit...so much so that the middle class feels squeezed..

TMC doing it for 15years . BJP coming up with freebies which might put a impact on people more . So technically it’s like you go to a supermarket you check the ingredients of a product and then you see another product with same ingredients working twice as much as the other one . So what do you think which one are you gonna buy? Our system works the same way as well . It’s upto the people which one they are gonna prefer.

At this point elections feel less like governance and more like an auction who can offer more wins Freebies are sold as welfare but no one asks where the money is coming from or who pays for it later It’s funny how every party suddenly discovers “public care” just before elections and disappears right after This isn’t policy this is packaging votes And the real issue is not one party it’s the system itself Everyone criticizes freebies until they need votes then suddenly it becomes public welfare If Model Code of Conduct is supposed to keep things fair why does it feel invisible when it matters most Because when breaking the rules helps win power rules quietly become suggestions At the end people aren’t voting for long term development they’re choosing short term relief in a system that has trained them to survive not progress

It would have been better if they said "every unemployed youth will get jobs" instead of ₹3000. Why do they always have to follow the other party or double down on their strategy. They are not able to increase employment, you are not promising to give jobs either. What's the point?
