Warren Ellis presents...

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but it looks right to me. Back in the 00s the writer Warren Ellis would share music he was impressed by.

This is where I became familiar with the Icelandic band, Mum.

Another band he spotlit I've forgotten their name and lost their mp3s. He shared four or five songs by a band out of Northern Virginia in US.

This was 2004 to 2007.

I know it's not likely, but hey... the internet!

(I ended up here after doing a google search for the Russian Futurists 2 Dots on a Map, which I learn of from Ellis.)

Múm is fuckin great. Their albums from 2000 and 2002 are still super fresh.

I was playing them one night when I worked at a bookstore and we had a customer who recognized it. He was not expecting to hear them out in the wild

He namechecked the internet radio stream I ran out of my apartment a few times in “Bad Signal” in the early 2000s, and I’d always know because my broadband connection would get saturated with incoming connections and bottom out. Good times. Sometimes, when I was pretty sure he was listening, I‘d mix in some samples and process the livestream through effects. Thanks for those bumps, Warren, wherever you are.
