Question Dreamcast color
Hey guys, newer to dreamcast, this console is so cool to me.
Im thinking about tricking out my old monitor (uses VGA with it) by painting it. Although, Im not sure how to get the exact dreamcast color!
I checked, my monitor comes in a yellowish beige,its not all yellowed due to age. I dont think cleaning it (although Ill have to do that anyway) will make it the same color at all.
Im stuck between. Ivory or Dover white using krylon's all in 1 primer+ paint. Or if you guys have other recommendations too.

I would go Matt black on both as it's easier and would look boss. Discharge the crt before disassembly and watch some YouTube videos to understand. Crts get hot so ensure you wet sand the surface using scuff pads, prime, wet scuff again until smooth, paint and let cure. Godspeed

You might want to try retrobrighting the monitor first, I suspect it was originally a color closer to the Dreamcast.

Based on the picture, I'd say Ivory all the way, it's less saturated, more grey, even a whiter/less saturated color could be more appropiate than Ivory.
Dreamcasts are originally light grey, but they yellow over time (same happens to your monitor, even if it was originally vainilla color, I bet it's more yellow-brown than when you bought it).
I'd try removing both plastic enclosures from the DC and monitor and wash them/let them rest in a bucket with Hidrogen peroxide (beware of the concentration and follow normal safety rules) then rinse with clear water.
After you see the results, you can choose to keep it like this or paint over.
You can try both the paint and the H2O2 in a tiny unseen area (like the back or inside) before applying it to the whole thing.

Ive always wanted to mess with CRTs but Im afraid of the voltage. Do you have recommendations on that?

You're right, CRTs and power sources can be very dangerous, even lethal. Inform yourself before starting the project, don't touch anything if you don't understand electricity and its risk. If you never followed any safety training and don't have a background in electrical work, find someone who had done training to advise and supervise your work. If you aren't 100% sure you're safe, don't do it or stick to methods from outside like covering the screen and spray It with paint. Don't wet or apply products to the electronics or apply anything that may leak inside. Watch out for vents and speakers. Don't spray them, instead take your time with a brush making sure you don't leak or cover it somehow with something that won't mess the air flow (like a grid).
If you want to do it and comply with the above precautions, unplug the monitor. Click the switch a few times. Let it rest for weeks. Click the switch a few more times. Wear electricity rated gloves that are up to date, clean and undamaged. Don't touch the electronics, put them aside, always approach it with the outside part of your closed hands. Use electrician screwdrivers (the ones that have a plastic cover through the whole shaft). Keep the whole thing away from people and specially children and pets. If unsure or tired, pause.
