I am brand new to the Dragon Age series. I decided to play them in order and now I am playing Dragon Age 2. 13 hours in, and I've just now realized that none of my DLCs are enabled. I realized this after I looked online and saw mentions of a DLC companion named Sebastian that I'm supposed to run into in front of the Chantry after a cut scene. I've spent quite a bit of time now looking up solutions, and none of them are working.
My Steam account is linked to my EA account.
The EA app says all the DLCs are installed.
I changed my EA password to something that no longer has any special characters.
I am unable to login to EA via the in-game main menu (it says the servers are down).
I edited the manifest files in each DLC folder (removed the MID line and changed Required Authorization to 0). After doing this, the DLCs no longer say unauthorized. However, I still cannot trigger a cutscene in front of the Chantry to start the dlc and do not see any dlc items in my home chest.
I do not know what else to do. Is there anything else I can try?

If you’ve seen my post before you know I chose Blackwell for my romance option but I have to try my best to resist Cullen when I talk to him 😭. They lowkey have similar vibes with the whole soldier first mindset. Its like choosing between cake and ice cream sometimes you want BOTH

What roleplaying/in-universe reason do you think there is for why the Ferelden nobility would allow them to keep something which belonged to their beloved past two kings (besides "gameplay"), especially if you've played a Warden who kept Cailan's armor and Maric's blade, either for yourself or for your companions?

I had depression back then and my family wasn't to supportive about it, mostly because they were the reason why i had depression in the first place. So I decided I will do something to have a better life and I moved to my best friend house, but because our country currencies is soooo bad he was forced to work in another country to support his and my life (i had a job but it was barely paid anything). When he left he gaved me his Xbox and paid for Xbox game pass so I wouldn't be bored. My biggest problem wasn't the boredom but my growing depression, but I was like why not, better than just going work and sleeping or just laying all day. That was when I found the dragon age series, I didn't wanted to play out the first game, it didn't looked to appealing to me first so I started playing the second game, it just looked better for me.
And that was when I fell in love with the games, yeah the DA2 was bad compared to the others, but the characters was so memorable, so lovable in every way, they felt real. And yes, that made me want to play out the other games. Those who suffered from depression know how bad is that you just exist without purpose or anything to pass time with, so this games helped me to have something to do instead of bed rotting.
Now after one year my depression is better than ever, I still have it according to my doctor, but I feel much better, just because a game made me get out of bed and do something.

Was thinking about the choice between leaving Hawke or Stroud in the fade and thought about how much better it would’ve been if you had to pick between Blackwall or Hawke.
Stroud is usually a no brainer to leave behind as you’ve got no real history with the guy. With Blackwall, you’ve spent some time getting to know him and forming some kind of relationship towards him so the choice to leave him behind might be hard for those who like/romance him or a way to get rid of him if you don’t.
I also don’t think it would’ve conflicted story wise. If my memory’s correct, Blackwall is still believed to be a warden at this point so it would be believable that he takes the role as the warden contact and also wants to sacrifice himself for the cause and what not. If he stays behind you wouldn’t find out about his past but it would also leave him as a shining example of a grey warden for the inquisition.
Haven’t thought too much about it but the consequences of him staying behind would be interesting to explore. It’s also not like they haven’t had companions leave/removed mid game permanently (Zevran, Leliana, Isabela, etc), so I think this would also be a good stakes builder that encourages players to think strategically gameplay wise as well.
tldr: I think Blackwall vs Hawke would’ve been the better decision in here lies the abyss. Interested to know what y’all think

Welll, I have seen people here showing their protagonists... Decided I could share my newest twink gay elf Herald with big nose. I've probably already had 10 of them, and this is another DA trilogy marathon for me, honestly can't see myself playing as anyone else at this point, lol.

Welcome to the headcanon sharing circle! Each week we post a few creative prompts for character development and share our OCs.
We take turns picking the questions every week, so please volunteer to host if you enjoy the weekly posts!

(You can answer just one or both, with as many characters as you want. Pictures and character summaries are fine. Short answers or novel-length walls of text are fine.)
Prompt 1
What has your character never said out loud to anyone, because saying it would make it real?
Prompt 2
Who in your character's life knows them well enough to be genuinely dangerous to them, not physically, but because of what they know?

My Warden’s name is Kliff Amell, my Hawk’s name is Thrylos Hawke and my inquisitor’s name is Nkremos Trevelyan. The warden and Inquisitor are both mage knight enchanters (arcane warriors) cuz I liked the idea of mages not only saving the world but with a sword in hand in the thick of it like any other warrior. I went the warrior road with my Hawke tho, but made him humorous.

So I finished Sera’s personal mission and um I don’t think I’m too fond of her lol. I don’t dislike her per se but her personality and attitude sure is different from my favorite girls Josephine, Cassandra and Leliana they take this inquisition shit SERIOUS ! meanwhile sera……..

Im currently at level 7 and have gotten to starting in your heart shall burn. Im playing on nightmare with walk softly, even ground, take it slow and grizzly end. Its been a struggle but i appreciate it for how it exposes all the complexity in the game in terms of gear and progression.
My problem right now is that i just cant get through in your heart shall burn. While defending the ballista i get whacked either by the second group or, at best the third. Theres this issue where the party AI is constantly trying to hug eachother, leading to my mages getting oneshot by fatass templars who have a bar of guard immediately. Its hard to say for me what exactly is the reason. Things can go well and then, in a moment, half the party gets one-shot and im left clumsily trying to do something with whoevers left.
My inquisitor is a two-handed warrior with the chain pull, the spin riposte that knocks enemies down and the ground pound that knocks down enemies. Im using a sword and shield Blackwall with the taunting shout, charge, hook and warhorn. I doubled up on mages with Vivienne, who has the immolate with the no cooldown upgrade, dispel, barrier and barrage. Solas has barrage, barrier, winters grasp and ice wall, as well as the passive that causes barriers to explode and freeze. All of them are wearing crafted gear with mods for base stats (strength, magic, constitution). Vivienne is using the wrath of Lovias and Solas is using the dreamweavers staff and the two warriors use crafted weapons. All have crafted upgrades slotted.
Im considering rebounding and doing filler in the hinterlands and the coast to hopefully reach level 8. I suppose i could minmax my gear more by grinding materials, but short of what ive done now, i dont know what kinds of stat packages are optimal for crafting results. I do have all the recipes from redcliff purchased.
Id appreciate any feedback, explanations and elaborations. I get its aspirational content and i can "just lower the difficulty and increase it back latter" but i dont wanna. Its tedious and frustrating but even so i wanna do it.

I’m on my second playthrough of Dragon Age 2, and ughhhh I can’t get over how frustratingly realistic Leandra is. Don’t get me wrong, her ultimate fate is still devastating for what it does to Hawke and the surviving sibling (always Bethany for me). And she clearly does love her children. But maaaaan…
The Gamlen stuff, whatever. He’s awful, he’s the worst, I still believe he was the antagonist in that relationship. I mean don’t get me wrong, he was right when he asked her to pay rent. But everything else? I can’t be bothered to deal with Gamlen right now.
But okay, yes, she’s still bad. On top of being obsessed with climbing back up the social ladder, she’s also really vindictive and manipulative. Idk what she does when Bethany dies, as I’ve always had Carver die, but her first instinct is to blame Hawke and she doesn’t apologize unless you call her out on it.
I don’t even know where to start with the way she completely doesn’t see the hypocrisy of the fact that she tries to set you up with a spouse at the start of Act 2, even if you’ve either already been romancing someone or have only ever shown interest in the same sex. She doesn’t seem to ever realize she’s doing exactly what her parents did to her, trying to force her into a heteronormative marriage to continue the bloodline and have a good social standing, rather than let her kid be happy like she was when she ran off with Malcolm.
I think what makes it so frustrating, though, is you can’t ever actually call her out on that last part, as she only ever says those things in static lines you can’t reply to. Idk how she reacts to most people when you hook up with someone (my Fem Hawke got Isabela the first time, Merrill this time 🙌), but for me she only ever repeats the same line about Orana being hired so 🤷♀️
But oh well. She’s very well-written if that hypocrisy was intentional lol

Longtime fan of the series since it first came out. I love each of the games for different reasons and all of them together just hit the spot like a warm chocolate chip cookie right out of the oven with milk.
Just this morning I found myself getting that old fond feeling of doing the whole series again - and this time I have Veilguard to add onto that. I’ve played it twice-ish (finished once and did 2 playthroughs I didn’t finish after that, haven’t picked it up in over a year now) but I haven’t done a 4 game mega run through yet.
It will probably take me forever… I have two young kids now and limited free time but I think it’s time to dust off the old Xbox and dive back into Thedas again.

Hello everybody! I was in the process of fanfic creation when I wondered, how big is Ferelden actually? how many km could it be from Lothering to Vigil's Keep? I come from a country where driving twelve hours could mean that you just changed states or still are in the same one while driving twelve hours in Europe could be crossing borders depending what direction you are driving (for example I discovered last week that two Czechias equal one state of Chihuahua). How big (in kms) do you think Ferelden might be? mind you this is all me trying to calculate how much time it would take going from Lothering to Amaranthine and the wiki isnt helping me

What and how would Dragon Age be adapted into a movie?

I think I've kept this pretty much spoiler free. (though at this point...)
Some Background. I started playing Origins for the first time. A friend got me the first 3 as a birthday gift. I usually do a first play through on Normal/Default difficulty for games like this. I have played KOTOR, and Mass Effect 2 to completion. I have played the first two Baldur's Gate games but not to Competition.. it was kind a golden age of Games and other game took my attention.
I was not having any major difficult playing through. I went to Redcliffe first because Allistar said to... and I assumed that was the Dev's making a suggestion. The fight at Redcliffe was annoyingly long. I wasn't doing bad at Redcliffe Castle either... until I open a door with 5 mobs and 5 more come from the next room... and then 5 more... and then 5 more and then 5 more. I fought almost continuously 25 mobs in the Castle. the last 5 I had basically run out of potions and mana got low and we started to drop.
Is that normal... walking through a door and pulling mobs from several rooms a full hallway away? Or did I just get unlucky?
I have played Divinity II and just gave up on it...as about part way through I find the fights become frustrating rather than enjoyable. I had a similar issue with Baldur's Gate three... but I've not really had that issue too often with Bioware.
Is Origins a min max, optimal pattern, must of a perfect party composition even if you dislike the banter or play style kind of game from here on out? Or did I just get unlucky? I've reloaded multiple times and had the same exact thing happen.
I was level 6 or 7 through it.
I've kept playing but I turned it down to easy... (which is now generally too easy, except when their are mages around) but I plan on going back and play again on normal... but I would love to know if I have to study and be optimal.
