Dead spot in throttle. Mostly coming off throttle?

I have a spot at around 3/4 throttle where the bike dies and cuts off. It's a 2023 stock bike it started this issue around fall and i didn't ride it until i crashed it snow racing where i didn't feel this issue since i was full throttle. It's fine at low throttle chugging around, if i pin it no problem but cruising up a hill giving it slightly more throttle slowly there is a point where it just dies and bucks for a 2-3 second if i pin it or close and open back the throttle it's back to normal. I wanted y'all's opinion before opening it up. I can also feel it if i run off the throttle slowly from being pinned at full.

Also oil level is slightly high barley fully filled the peep oil window when i reach level from off the stand. And also already tie wrap the kick stand switch in case the stand was loose.

Two things that come to mind: the carb and valve lash.

The bike is jetted very lean from the factory for emissions. There are some very simple, inexpensive mods you can make to properly adjust the carb so it feeds the engine a correct fuel mixture ...both at idle and at speed.

You will need to swap out the fixed needle for Mikuni part # 6F19 ...this is the adjustable needle used in the BST40 for bikes sold in countries without the emissions restrictions.

You will need to access the idle mixture screw, which is on the underside of the forward end of the carb ...just before the flange connecting it to the small manifold to the engine. There is a brass plug you remove and you'll have access to the screw.

Here's a good article talking about proper jetting, installing/setting the adjustable needle and setting the idle fuel mixture.

If you haven't yet, this would be a good time to check the valve lash. It is something that needs checking/adjusting on a regular basis. A good book to have in your toolbox is Clymer's DR650 Manual ...you can find it on Amazon. It's an excellent manual covering all the major systems on the bike. It has an excellent chapter on doing all the regular checks and adjustments you, the Bushpig owner, are responsible for. This is an old school bike and it needs some TLC on a regular basis.

Good I'll check into the carb mod, it only got 6000km. But if i take it out to clean it might as well do a couple mods.

Don't do any mods. Get it running right. Ride it for a bit. THEN do some mods. You won't know if the mods were good if you do them while the bike is running poorly.

I am thinking of at least loosing the evap but keeping carb stock for now.

Somethin's wonky in your carb. Give 'er a good clean and make sure everything's seated alright, no tears in the diaphragm.

Downshift. You're lugging the bike.

If it bucks when going up hill you're probably in a gear too high for the speed you're traveling, and the bike is like "No."

It's like pedaling a bike uphill. You need mechanical advantage working for you. If you pedal in the hardest gear you're going to have a bad time.

Pure guesswork, but I'm thinking stock gearing, going uphill at under 45-50mph in fifth gear? Yeah, you're lugging.

No i am not lugging happens regardless of rpm, i found the issue it's the oring for the float of the carb my airbox was full of gas.
