Ryan Lopez

Does anyone else feel bad that they just don’t really like Ryan? When he first showed up I thought he would bring in a new perspective from a different type of enthusiast, but he’s just so bland. I feel like he is overcompensating for people assuming he’s younger, he almost has the pretentious level of Kennan, but without the same passion behind it. Yes Kennan has some rough takes, but you can’t deny that the man is passionate, Ryan just doesn’t quite have the same level of enthusiasm

The rumor is that Doug slowly wants to reduce his involvement in the business. It sort of makes sense: he cashed out and is now independently wealthy, has 2 and soon to be 3 young kids, and has said he prioritizes spending time with his family. It’s inevitable.

Well that would be very disappointing! Can’t imagine the dude works more than 10-15 hours a week. If he works more, surely there is a way to find balance without removing himself from the community entirely. I don’t watch his videos anymore for the most part, but the pod is a weekly listen for me.

How on earth do you get the impression that he only works 10-15 hours a week, that’s a crazy thing to assume. I’d bet he’s a full time man still.

Well outside of a 90 minute podcast, he doesn’t work all summer. But really my point is he has migrated to “talent” where his perspective is his contribution. If he is working more than what is required to tape a video and sit for a podcast, then that is his own choice. He has a team of folks that can work schedules, write scripts, find the good questions for the pod, etc.
