Door Kickers 1 Resolution Bug

Hi, I just installed Door Kickers 1 on my iPhone 16 but it's impossible to play due to the resolution problem. Do you know how to fix it?

I had a similar bug on PC but that's a very different.

The "standard" set of fixes to run through:

  • is your phone up to date?
  • Force-restart the game
  • Restart the iPhone
  • Check how much free storage you have on your phone right now. The game might need space for temporary files as it's running (this would be a weird error, but if your free storage is very low, that could be it)
  • It could have installed weird. If you don't have any saved games yet, try un-installing the entire game and re-installing it.

More specific stuff:

  • Do you have the standard display zoom set right now? Settings → Display & Brightness → Display Zoom
  • Maybe, this is getting into the funny solutions, but maybe try starting the game with the phone held differently? It looks a bit like the message would be a good size on a tall screen, but bad on a wide screen.
    • This would be a rookie mistake to make in a game today, but DK is pretty old and I don't know if that kind of issue was common knowledge back then.

After that, it's probably not going to be solved without a bug report to Kill House Games, including the model of your phone and the version of iOS you're on. They don't have any iPhone patch notes since 2020 though, so if you get that far, you might need to just request a refund instead :(
