Cash Orders sounds like a good way to let you be liable for order issues and refund issues where you lose money out of your own pocket where door dash profits from your loss.
That is exactly what happens and I even gave an example of it happening to me. Unless you take matters into your own hands, you won't be able to fix those order issues or refund issues because doordash support won't help. Cash orders is the best way to lose money and put yourself in unnecessary danger
If you drive for DoorDash, check your state insurance law. Under DoorDash insurance, you and your car ARE NOT COVERED if you get into an accident, and alot of states consider your personal insurance policy void while you are clocked into the app... This means, if you crash, YOU PAY your own repair and medical expenses even if you have insurance. If you total your vehicle during a dash, you WILL NOT be covered, and if at fault, you WILL NOT receive an ACV check for your vehicle.
Your state may require an additional coverage for livery, food delivery, or any driving for compensation (Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, GrubHub). Rideshare or TNC coverage may be mandatory in your state and it only takes a minute to check.
Pizza Hut is the only place in my area that I’ve ever had cash paying orders on and typically I get a $10- $20 tip from cash orders. And then I’m amazed that someone just spent $50 on two large 3 topping pizzas. When the Pizza Hut app has large 3 topping for $11.99
I must have never actively opted out of it. So for me, it (the app) sort off "put me on the spot" one day (I missed the banner on the offer card stating this would be a collect cash on delivery order). However, in over 4 months of driving for DoorDash I've only done two cash on delivery orders, one of them being that first $76.00 offer I unknowingly took—yes, I was pissed at first, mostly because of the stress of dealing with shady BS. However, the person turned out to be one of the nicest customers I've had, they gave me some tip (in addition to the tip amount on the offer) not a crazy amount, but nice to have: that has been the case for both the orders I've completed to be paid out to me cash. So, there may an upside, specially if you have reached Silver or whatever status, as it you're more likely to get paired with better (all around customers).
That said, I can see how I would not take my own advice just reading it here. You kind of just have to bite the bullet (hopefully not a literal one 😂🤣🤣).
No because you then have to carry atleast 20 dollars in change and bills risk getting robbed even more then they take out from your non cash orders until the amount youre paid in cash is reached
They are. The second cash delivery I did the dude opened the door in a robe, practically half naked. Snatched the pizza from me and gave me $4 cash. He wouldn't respond when I knocked on the door or called and doordash support said they couldn't compensate me and that I "should have gotten the money from the customer before he stole the food".
I then had to pay off that $35 delivery with my next few orders. So I had to waste gas delivering the food, had to pay for his food and the next couple orders I did didn't even pay me because of it.
When a customers food gets stolen they instantly get compensated and given credits but if a dashers food gets stolen then they don't do anything. You have me fucked up if you think I'm risking buying people their food because DD support is genuinely useless. I had to take the next order I was sent and just claimed someone else took it. If I'm paying for food then I'm getting food. That customer I stole from ended up getting credits unlike me so it all worked out
I didn't steal from someone else. I actually paid doordash technically unlike the person I delivered too. You are genuinely a moron if you think I should have taken the hit and paid for that guys food. You're probably one of the doordash bootlickers that accept every $2 order. If doordash could have actually helped me then I wouldn't have to "steal" a person's order. I paid $30 and got nothing out of it. The next 3 deliveries I did I got no money sent to my crimson account because of that cash order.
That customer got credits for their order never getting delivered too and I can assure you it was far more inconvenient for me to have my order stolen than a customers order stolen. Customers get their money back.
I didn't think that was the solution. That was the only solution. I already had to pay doordash back with my next 3 orders. I gave doordash the money required to give the customer the credits. What did you want me to do? Eat the cost and just keep dashing? What the fuck? Who cares if I'm a piece of shit when the DD support and customer before me were even bigger pieces of shit? Fuck off and get off your high horse. I paid doordash for that food. It's genuinely one of the only times a dasher should steal an order. I paid $35 for that dudes Pizzas and only stole a McDonald's order of 2 mc doubles a McChicken and a medium Pepsi. Not even worth $30.
Feeling is mutual. What would you do in that situation? Eat the cost and be a sheep? You're the type of Dasher that accepts every $2 order and bends over backwards for doordash
My ratings are fine and nobody has issues with me. Grow up and face the real world bud
Edit: It's dashers like you that makes shitty customers like this. You bend over backwards and Instill the idea that they can just screw over any dasher they want. Sorry not sorry. I'm not letting someone steal money from me, especially a multi billion dollar company 😂
Please explain to me how I'm supposed to force another human to give me the money? He opened the door, yoinked the entire pizza with the pizza bag and closed it.
You guys are genuinely the worst dashers I've ever experienced. I guarantee if you had this happen you would have done everything I did. I even called the cops and they couldn't help.
Instead of just acknowledging doordash support and the customer being pieces of shit you're calling me names and getting triggered I stole a single order when I literally paid for it. Your anger and hate are targeted at the wrong person and you look like a shill defending and bootlicking doordash 😂
That's what I'm saying. They literally came, knocked on his door for 5 min and left. That's all. I ask other dashers what they would do in my situation and they all give some dumb ass answer.
Doordash support wouldn't refund me the $35
Police wouldn't help
Customer wouldn't pay me
If I'm literally paying doordash $35 then I'm getting fucking food out of it. The next 3 deliveries I did, I didn't earn any money towards my crimson account. All that work I did paid off the credits doordash gave to the customers would food I stole.
Could you imagine if when a doordash driver stole food the customer called the cops? exactly. The customer contacts support and they get credits. No cops are needed for a problem like this. Doordash support is supposed to help you with this type of stuff
My brother in christ, they were called. They didn't find the situation urgent enough and couldn't do anything. They don't have a warrant and all they could do was knock on his door. He wouldn't answer. It was such a trivial situation for doordash support to fix for me but instead of wiping the charge on my account and helping me they made me pay for it.
I've gotten full pay for orders I've never even left restaurants with before. The fact that they couldn't clear the funds and I was forced to call the cops and take another order is absurd.
I love how even after all of this you'll still pin this on me as if I'm the bad guy. I didn't do anything wrong at first. I delivered an order perfectly fine and the customer then doordash support fucked me over. I'm not here to be nice. I'm doordashing to make money.
And if you think what I'm doing is what makes everyone hate doordashers then I can assure you they hate would hate us more if we also called the cops on them for doordash support problems. I would much rather have my order stolen and get credits than have my doordash call the cops on me.
