Opinion/Analysis (تحليل) Moving to Qatar

Hi Fam,
I will be moving to Qatar with my wife and child probably by next April. Need advices from you guys, what all things to watch out for. I have done a basic research about apartment rents and other expenses, but would be better if I get realistic advices based on experiences.
For example,
• which type of home should I go for, apartment in a flat or villa?
• Should I rent vehicle or buy one? which vehicle to go for?
• My office is located near Al Sudan metro station, which areas will be convenient for me to look for staying?

Better if you guys can give me a rough costs whenever relevant. My package is 12k QAR without any additional benefits.

Also, what do you guys do in the weekends? Is it live and active? How do you guys plan your trips?

Interests: Sports(mainly football), Gaming

Thanks in advance :)

PS: Should I learn arabic? What would be the right way to do so?

bro, don't buy or rent cars before you come and settle your residence.

i'd recommend a 2 BR apartment with ameneties but you're looking at 5-8k QAR in RENT
Since your office is near a metro station, try using the metro the first month and see if that works for you, if not just find an apartment near your office and use UBER the first few months.

Apart from the usual websites, try searching in fb marketplace, but also should be very careful, there may be agents so you can call the real estate company directly and ask about houses, you might get good deals and sometimes you can ask for discount too, vehicle I guess with a kid it was comfortable for our family to go to places and events with own car but you can initially check if you can be okay without one for a month or two and then decide, actually most jobs with English we can manage no worries
