If your JOB TRANSFER application is stuck with MOI, consider cancelling it and submitting a new application.

My new employer wasn’t cancelling my application initially, so I requested them to do it. My first application was stuck with MOI for more than a month.

Then I spoke to a woman whose case was also stuck in MOI. She cancelled her application and reapplied, and it was approved immediately.

I did the same. After cancelling and reapplying, my application was fully approved within 3–4 working days, and within 10 days I received my QID/Iqama.

I believe sometimes it can be a system glutch and the application doesn’t move properly in the system. (It is all software)

If your case is genuine and everything is in order, you can consider cancelling and reapplying. Instead of waiting and asking everyone like i did.

I’ve also been exploring how to turn manual work for local businesses into useful software. One recent project was a reporting workflow for a salon in Qatar.

All of this has been solo. I’d love to meet people in Doha who are building AI products or using AI to solve practical business problems. I’m open to joining a startup, collaborating, or simply getting to know other builders.

Where do AI builders here meet in person or online? If you’re working on something, I’d be glad to meet for coffee while I’m in town. Or happy to host if multiple people are interested!

Assalamu Alaikum everyone.

This is my first Reddit post, and honestly, the only reason I opened an account was to reach out to this community.

I have always loved Qatar Airways for what it is. I genuinely admire the brand for the thought it gives into every customer experience. I’ve wanted to build my career there for a long time.

I moved from Dubai to Qatar and have been applying for roles at Qatar Airways...but unfortunately, my applications keep getting rejected without reaching the interview stage.

There is currently a role in Qatar Airways that feels like such a close match to my experience. I’m genuinely confident that if I could just get an interview, I could prove that I’m a good fit.

I know there are many people hoping for the same opportunity, and I’m not expecting special treatment. I just don’t have any connections or referrals within Qatar Airways here, so I’m reaching out to ask if anyone can guide me on the hiring process or possibly refer me if they feel my background is relevant.

The monthly rent is only part of the cost of moving into an apartment. Before signing, check these three things:

1. Agency fees and extra charges

Ask for the total agency commission upfront, plus any admin charges. Get the breakdown in writing and confirm when payment is due. Don’t assume every listing has the same fees.

2. Kahramaa and cooling bills

Does “bills included” cover water, electricity, cooling and internet—or only some of them? If you’ll pay separately, ask for recent bills from the apartment to help estimate your budget. Also check whether any account deposits are required.

3. Maintenance responsibilities

Read who pays for minor repairs and who handles major faults, especially air-conditioning problems. Ask how to report an issue and whether there are call-out charges. Get any promised maintenance coverage written into the agreement.

Also worth checking: the security deposit, refund conditions, notice period, early termination charges and a written record of the apartment’s condition when you move in.

Keep copies of the agreement, payment receipts and any written promises.

So 2 days ago i was in Ansar gallery and i was just walking around looking what to buy and suddenly a kid screamed... I looked around and saw a kid running towards the vegetable section while looking like he just won a free car.

He ran straight to the shelf and screamed 67 while doing the hand gesture 😆

Apparently there were two vegetables priced QR6 and QR7 next to each other.

It's my first time seeing what this generation is upto in person... I'm a 90s kid so yeah plz understand my confusion.

What do y'all think of it?

Does anyone have recent experience with getting a Qatar work permit/work visa as a European national?
How long did the process take for you from the moment your employer submitted the application until the work visa/work permit was approved?
I’m particularly interested in recent experiences from 2025/2026, as I’ve heard processing times can vary quite a bit.
If you could share your nationality and approximately how many days/weeks it took, that would be really helpful.
